THE NRMA Insurance Broncos will debut their second 18-year-old in a month in a late change to the team to play the Dragons this afternoon. Jordan Drew will play on the right wing in place of Lachlan Maranta in the 3pm match at Suncorp Stadium. Drew, who grew up in Nanango and schooled at Toowoomba Grammar, has impressed in the under 20s this season. He was preferred to Maranta after Jordan Kahu failed a fitness test on his broken hand. The other winger is Corey Oates, another 18-year-old who got his first jersey against the Storm on July 5.
Two 18 year old wingers it is. I'm just happy Maranta has been dropped, he must be really out of favour with Griffin if he's been dropped even as our 4th string winger. At least Griffin saw Maranta was holding the team back and made a change. I hope Jordan Drew can play a good game and do the position proud.
At this stage we need to shake things up take some risks, chances are slim of making the finals but IMO our real goal is finding the talent within for next season, for this reason Wallace should be next to go.
Pretty horrible 20s game. We won 30-28 but were leading by 18 at one stage, they got within 8, we then led by 14 with 7 mins to go, win by 2. Typical NYC, no one could really defend their line unless someone dropped the ball.
