PRE-GAME [Round 23, 2021] Broncos vs Warriors

Nah, aside from that one run, it was typical Milf. Uninspiring and lazy.

I mean, aside from putting it straight down Copley’s throat, I can’t recall him putting up a single kick in his 20 odd minutes. At the same time, I vividly remember Kelly putting a kick through and chasing like shit, whilst Milf just trudged off to the left like a slug behind the rest of the chasers to assume his position in the defensive line, most likely by the time the third tackle rolled around.

At that stage, the rest of the spine had been playing for around 65mins and Milf only 5 or so, but he still couldn’t be bothered to do the basics.

The bloke is the very definition of lazy, Benji was right. I only wish he was off to Melbourne so we could get to witness Bellamy magnificently implode from afar.
Yeah, looked like he wanted to get involved for about 5 mins. Once he fucked up the kick, he went back into his default "I don't give a ****" mode for the rest of the game.

We also looked totally clueless again when he came on. The bloke has turned into a fucking potato. Wish him all the best at Souths.

Assuming Flegler, Mead, and Gamble are out, no harsh judgment for team lists this week. Tough to pick any team with all the outs. Assuming Willison, Paix and Levi are fit:.

1. Niu
2. Oates
3. Arthurs🤷‍♂️ (Herbie if fit)
4. Cobbo 🤷‍♂️
5. Isaako 🤷‍♂️
6. Kelly
7. Croft 🤷‍♂️
8. Kennedy 😡
9. Levi
10. Haas
11. Glenn
12. Riki (60 minutes)
13. Hetherington

14. Paix
15. Bullemor
16. Robati
17. Willison
Bullemor won’t be picked. Kennedy possibly will captain. Riki will play 100minutes, Kevvie will make sure he starts the game already exhausted.

I’ve gotta say, Gamble is my number 6 moving forward. Is he the best 6 in the comp talent wise? Nope but is he our best option for six? Absolutely.

The guy never gives up on the play, the result means something to him, he’s earned his shot and taken it, he’s really good defensively, he does the 1%ers and he had every right to come off last night about 15 minutes into the game with injuries but stayed out there and not just that, although totally busted, kept putting his broken hand up for more work. He’s inspirational and a leader, goodness me we need more of that. I’d put him into the leadership team.

Wouldn't mind Lachlan Lewis as a depth signing for both Gamble and Hetherington at lock if we went that way either.
Depends on where the coaching staff plan on playing Carrigan when he returns though.

Maybe try and find a way to use Isaako as back up game manager off the wing in this game if Milford and Kelly fail to fire. He can come in on the 5th our side of halfway or something and kick it long.

I was pretty sceptical about him but I'm coming around on him being our 6 next year. He's made every post a winner since coming in and we are a way better side when he's on the field. I think we need a decent, creative fullback to complement him though. Nicho would have been ideal.

Scans have cleared Gamble's hand. No fracture, but he's been charged with a crusher tackle, which will sideline him for 2-3 weeks. Mead has been fined $1,350 for a high tackle on Copley. Flegler hasn't been charged.

Also injured TBA: Kelly (knee), Willison (knee), Danny Levi (HIA).

I don't think it's fair to him to rip on his Talent, of all the players we have tried in the last few years he is the one who seems to have grown the fastest in Ability, earlier this season when he was with Kelly he didn't look at the same level as him but in the last game he looked head and shoulders our best half and he has added alot to his game as well especially those grubbers at the try line.

Some players just Bloom later then others, probably a mental thing.

Oh I agree with you and it wasn’t an intentional slight believe me, I love the guy but he isn’t in the same league as Munster, Walker, Keary, Luai on talent and there is no shame in that. He uses what he has brilliantly and continues to add to it, I really like him. Honestly, I could see him playing a role off the bench in origin at some point, even if just a game or two.

Gamble really needs to work on his discipline more. I might be wrong here, but i think he's been charged 3 or 4 times already in first grade. Really going to miss him though as his enthusiasm is infectious.

haven't most of them been for Crusher tackles ...

I personally hate the way that tackle is referred and charged, because many of those that are charged are literally unavoidable given the way bodies have fallen after a legit tackle. I get the need to protect players (especially with regards to the neck), and deliberate attempts to slow the play down or put pressure on the neck should absolutely be charges ... but it's a contact sport, ands sometimes things happen to go wrong through no fault of the defender. it makes it harder when players back into defenders these days

undeliberate crushers are by far the most unfair charge in the game, there is very little that can be done by the defender to avoid it and your getting charged as if you ripped someone's head off.

And honestly, Tyson's wasn't even that bad as far as crushers go. Completely unintentional and literally only for half a second.

I hope even if his injury would have kept him out if not charged, the club claims he's right to go so he can serve the suspension and be back before the end of the year (if his wrist/hand is ok anyway). He's a big part of the soul of this team right now.

Even if he is injured, the suspension wouldn't be delayed.

I can’t see us winning without gamble and Kelly. If Croft and Milford are our halves we are 🤮 no chance.
