Round 23 Discussion

Ah, Latrell. Fantastic talent with nothing between the ears.

That wasn't a penalty try, but I'm pretty happy to see the chooks punished for their continued intentional penalties, in particular Lattrell needs to be marched sooner or later.

In that Addo-Carr try, shouldn't it have been a scrum feed to the Storm? There was no advantage to the Storm and the knock on was the first offence...?

[EDIT] Lattrell Mitchell making my point for me!

Incidently what was the penalty for leading up to the Addo-Carr try? Was it for a late hit on Mytchell? Cause there's plenty worse every week.
Slater ran behind the Fox....and the major infringement overrules the minor one....

Epic first half...in terms of grubiness and poor refereeing. Absolutely disgraceful that this sort of rubbish dominates a top of the table clash.

Yeah not really sure how you rub that out of the game as it isn't illegal but goodness me, it isn't a good look is it.

You really can't rub it out of the game.

Otherwise all we will see is teams putting up kicks so the defenders can't tackle the player contesting the ball.

But I don't think you should be able to do what Scott did. Tackle the bloke.

See this is what happens when the referees allow the tension to build up when really they should be prepared to lay down the law to the players and not put up with it. Captains have the right to ask the referees but there comes a time when it becomes unacceptable and that is something Smith gets away with too much.

Yeah he is right but goodness me, the ref needs to man up and just move the game on, doesn't matter who is complaining. Smith is not the ref.

Absolutely but when they don't the matches really tend to degrade as a result of it.

On the penalty to Roosters after the knock on, a team can take their advantage after a knock on but if that team does something illegal, like the obstruction from Slater, the advantage goes to the defending team as the more serious offence is penalized.

It's been that way for a while now, it just very rarely happens.

This game shows though that if we get the Storm vs Broncs in the GF on a dry track, it will be a game for the ages.

It's the right call, I remember a similar incident during the 2013 ANZAC Test match.

It should have been addressed then, with the caveat that reportable offences can over-rule the advantage.

Looking at it a second time I think in the end I'm willing to accept it was the right call, I still think though this game has gotten out of hand with the reffing, I wish someone would grow a pair and bin Smith for pestering the referee constantly.
