I also noticed this. Got into the huddle and sprayed them. We saw the results. Fair credit to him.

Anyone who wants to be happy with that win are welcome to it, I won't shit in your wheaties over it, but I just can't feel it myself.

It's Round 24 and we are lightyears away from the real contenders. Melbourne and Penrith seem to have a Plan A, B and C all ready to go all season. We are flat out just winging it as a Plan B. We have been left behind in what it takes to be successful in this cheap, manufactured, low brow dog of a competition.

With all of our resources, our historic pedigree, and all the hatred from others that you could ever need for a siege mentality, the best we can do is concede 28 in a clunky win over a very poor Dolphins. They pull out that sort of horrible start against a true contender and they get belted by 40+. Meanwhile we settle for a 10 point close call where the defence took the night off.

A couple of footnotes:

- We play worse when Patty is out on the field. We need to work out why.

- Whoever our attacking coach is, the man who is supposed to organize our setplays and our offensive "philosophy", sack them.

- Defensive coach isn't far off either. Is that Barrett? Yeah well, why is it surprising we're conceding 28 when that spaz is given yet another gig he doesn't deserve.

- Fitness at least seemed to be good. We stayed energetic for large portions of the game, with some pretty pathetic lapses sprinkled in (looking at you, Shiba).

- Walsh will be a superstar of the comp one day, but those silly errors like that kick out on the full have well worn out their welcome.
Walsh made one error today which is what most stars make

Attacking coach is Trent Barrett, not the most decorated coach. Defense would be combination of Madge, Ben Te'o and possibly Matt Ballin.

As for Patty, I feel like he stops momentum in attacking plays that he tries to instigate. His link work with his passes is fine, but I feel like they are from set plays. Basically, he needs to stop ball playing, unless a set play is called. That is my theory, "trying to do too much".

I think Walsh will get a lot of confidence out of tonight with regards to his running game. That is easily the cleanist he has been able to run for arguably all season. He ran the ball back from kick returns and looked like breaking the tackles in quite a few occasions. I also liked seeing him run up the middle more like he did tonight. It really does help to have that extra speed he can offer there.
Yep so many times in attack he was used perfectly as the out the back option to put inroads in the front line. We really focused on that a lot tonight.

Why the fark am I so pissed off after a win?

I don't really know what to take from that game.

This team is so frustrating to watch.

So many emotions in such a short amount of time, like WTF JUST HAPPENED?

Patty MUST take a week off.

Riki MUST absolutely do a whole lot better.

When Goski went down early, I didn’t had hopes for JHunt but he proved me wrong. He’s good today.

Walshy is the triggering point to this team & he’s brilliant for most part of the game.

Being a new team in League, The Rejects are slowly getting better at playing dirty. I wonder when do we learn to play dirty? They were all over our players slowing the play down.

All in all, this win will instill some confidence in the boys to do better from here on.

Dont forget though, we only conceded 22 points to the Storm, who arguably the best team in the comp, after losing both our halves.
We are not as bad as people make out, granted i still think we fall short when it matters, but we are definitely not a bad side.
Agree totally, and I also agree with quite a few points that @I bleed Maroon said.

I feel that we just need to stop this desperation for perfection. Literally no club looks perfect. Melbourne and Riff are the closest to it, Melbourne have the fear of Bellamy, and Penrith have generational leaders and winners.

That ten minute period last week (after absorbing the typical Melbourne starting onslaught to the intercept) was probably the most powerful any team had looked all year, we were absolutely bludgeoning the standard that we apparently desire until disaster struck.

We just need to pick up the wins, chill TF out, and hope that when Reyno comes back we click, and somehow Willison and Mam can recover in time (unlikely) for a week 1 finals game should we make it.

Can someone explain what happened from 28-14 to 38-28?

Great win but can't believe we got away with that one. Funny how when the penalties and 6 agains dried up so did Redcliffe's points. Thought Staggs did a job on the Hammer.

Reece looks to be taking a run first then pass if needed mentality which is working great. I like what I see from Talty and he needs to get a run next year.

I hope he sticks with it, his speed makes it impossible to stand off him, he’ll always draw a defender you can’t not cover him. Just run a line near him and you’ll get a half break at minimum.
