Reynolds is the superior 7 but I think Hunt is more of a leader tbh.

Is 2025 Reynolds the superior halfback though? Obviously we’ll see over the next couple of weeks but if Hunt can replicate that last 30 mins over the next two weeks, I wouldn’t be rushjng Reynolds back. Hunt did exactly what our team needs, he fired them up with his words and then backed it up with actions and you could see the team jump on his back and go with him.

Walsh was amazing all night and it looked like from the moment Bunt sprayed the team, Walsh went yep ok I can trust this guy to take control and from then on, our spine clicked amazingly well. It’s 30 minutes but I’m hoping our team just worked out what they need to do. Let’s see what next week brings but I loved how Bunt just took ownership of the side under pressure. I don’t think I’ve seen Reyno do that recently, he tends to panic and go the glory play.

Good win in the end. I wish we saw that from Staggs more often. Him hitting the gap off a Walsh pass was fantastic to see.
Hunt took control of the side and Walsh played more of support role.
The attack looked more connected and fluid like they were all on the same page. Mostly that is.
Attack inside 20 needs so much work.
Only Hunts first game but the signs are positive that Walsh will follow him.
We have 3 weeks to take make some big improvements.
I'm looking forward to the next 3 games to see how we go without Reyno.

Missed the game and just caught the highlights. Shibasaki looks to have thrown off his origin hangover. That break, fend and then pass to Walshy was all done at full pelt. Great to see. Billy’s kick to the Karp was a brilliant way to finish off some superb lead up play.

Sadly we’re still guilty of nodding off while at marker at times. Paddy’s miss followed by Riki on Fuller was nothing short of embarrassing- sort it out guys. Talty just gets taller every game. It was his crunching tackle that won us the turnover before his try.

Still life in us yet. We might be hobbling into the finals, but if we can walk it off and manage to get the injured troops back by week one of the finals we’ll only get stronger. Look out!!

A lot of those penalties were self inflicted. Like a billion high tackles...

Patty & Staggs on report. I reckon they would’ve to pay the fines at best BUT you never know with the rotten NSWRL.

Call me stupid, I would so much love if they make Patty sit out a week. He needs the break.
Patty was sick last night, could hear it in his voice so agree he will benefit from another rest.

I think he’s the most likely to miss a game considering it was a crusher, but I’ve not seen the footage. Staggs maybe too considering his priors.

Walsh’s was softer than me tripping face first into Raelene Castle’s tuppence

We're just too thin in the forwards.
Might get the chance against Melb if results fall that way and we can't upgrade to top 4.
Otherwise Cowboys have lost a few forwards to suspension etc. so might be an option.

I don't know why anyone who genuinely believes the conspiracy theory guff about the refs and the game conspiring against us perseveres. I've been on this forum since the old days of Coxy and co. and it's literally the same script today as it was then.

Onto the things that actually matter, it was great to see Hunt play well in the 7 again for us. He is a rocks and diamonds half though, so I am not going to make any big claims about him a better option than Reyno just yet.

So if that happens it’s a q cup team against the knight s 😀

Rewatched the game. Smoothy is easily our best option at dummy half. Keeps markers honest and very good pass off the ground.

I'd have had Smoothy ahead of Paix since about Round 4 tbh. He has always been solid and consistent no matter where he's been played, he can go 80 if need be and he can cover a few different positions too - which is real handy given how often we're losing players during games this year. I think the only reason he's not been in the team is bc he's leaving at the end of the year.

@Browny - we got penalised for (deliberately) not packing a scrum properly about 20m out from our line so as to not face set scrum plays. Like how other teams have been doing for about the past 3 years.
