Well what have we got to lose? Why not just go a little nuts:

1. Walsh
2. Leota
3. Mariner
4. Shibasaki
5. Karapani
6. Hunt
7. Black
8. Jensen
9. Walters
10. Haas
11. Staggs
12. Riki
13. Carrigan

14. Bukowski
15. Hetherington
16. Semu
17. Gosiewski
Would be a nice team list for one of our trials next season but then you would’ve to scratch Leota off & have to hope that we extend Jensen.

Speaking of trials, it’s a shame that except Shiba, we couldn’t find anyone from of the guys who played trials this season. Our recruitment has to be better & we could find at least couple of guys who could play middle third next season.

You might question why Jock Madden got so much trial time.

In fairness to Madden, he's been injured pretty long term. I think he undoubtedly would be the best option to come in this week but he would be so underdone, there is probably no point risking him.

I am excited to have Duffy if he does sign to be fair, I reckon he could unseat Reynolds when he inevitably is injured and gets a run to show what he's got next year.

Yeah such a shame we've lost Leota just as he seems to finally be coming good after investing in him so long. Its a bit of a gut punch on the back of losing Cobbo as well.

Yup. On the bright side though, we may have landed a better prospect in Varhoven/Vernhovan 🤷‍♂️.

Walters has settled nicely into 14. He's been able to play within his limitations and everyone seems to have forgotten said limitations as if they've gone away.

At 6, they're laid bare. He will offer nothing that Hunt can't do better, and that's on old legs. Whether Paix passes to Hunt or Walters, that won't be where the action happens. There will be no sudden explosion.

It's no coincidence our season got back on track when Mam injected some elusiveness and speed into the spine.

It's a sad state of our roster when the goto backup at 6 is still making his case at 14 thanks only to the absence of the rookie Blake Mozer; the presumed heir to 7 in Black just put in a blinder in Cup but is still considered a child; and the three Cup halves (Madden, Rogers and Seigwalt) were immediately dismissed as substandard.

With Reynolds going around again next season, what will change?
We will see what happens on the weekend then, but I am still confident that the spine can do enough to win.

And to be fair, a lot of the depth signings were done way before Madge stepped in, and we all know he doesn't like making too many personnel changes week to week, unless absolutely necessary. The spine combinations will be stronger now, than putting a player like Madden or Rogers in and hoping that they can click with Walsh instantly.

Regardless of if it is a "good" choice, I feel like it is the safer choice in terms of team chemistry. Because we all know that Paix (Starting 9 for most of the year) and Smoothy (Basically lock and hooker in the handful of games he has played) are at NRL standard. Hunt is experienced 7, regardless of if he is good enough or not, he still played a lot of games in the halves at the start of the year.

Then there is only 1 moving piece in this change, which is Walters to 6. A lot less of a gamble than bringing in Madden and Rogers, in their first NRL game of the season, where we HAVE to win to keep us from sliding out of the 8. We need 2 wins out of the last 4 games to guarantee finals. (If my maths is correct)

I don't think Madge is the type of coach to bring in a new half for the season, who has to click with the team and the spine in a NRL game situation. I believe he is more so thinking, all these guys have played with each other throughout the year, out of them all, who can play 6 the best? Which would be Billy.

A bit like the Wishart (Natural 14 playing 7) in for Hughes and Pezet to 14 ideologies. Most people would be thinking Pezet to 7 and Wishart stays at 14, but Bellamy said nah.

Minimum disruption would be to leave Walters at 14. He might have experience at 6, but most of it was at losing games. Even his dad wouldn't play him at 6.

Bellamy still had Munster and Grant. Grant, in particular, ripped us a fresh asshole.

Fwiw kevvie reckons it should be Billy getting more minutes.

Your comprehension skills are about level with your football knowledge.

According to Kevin Walters, Maguire is better served playing Staggs in the centres. And the former coach reckons it might be son Billy at No.6 with Hunt at halfback.

“I feel like Kotoni is better in the centres,” Walters said on Fox League. “The Broncos need someone who is more of a genuine six. Kotoni did a good job the other night but his asset is his running and power game and that’s best served in the centres. Billy is an option for them at six.”

Yeah I can read between the lines dickface, talking about comprehension. We all know what he's saying.

Go and collect some qcup stats for us now, sycophant.

Walters has been our best spine player for several rounds this year.

Verhoeven - yeah sounds extremely exciting, along with Inness too. Baby Coates as well, at least he can replace Leota's terrible hairstyle.
Reckon Jr.Turncoat is off to Tigers next season so, scratch him off too

that's just dumb from him.

Big bro was at least smart enough to go to a quality system that could make him better
I've seen nothing to confirm this.

As far as I'm aware, he's contracted to the club till at least the end of 2026. He's set to do the pre-season next year which suggests he's on a development deal.

“We are helping Phil work through those levels to give him the best chance to train with the NRL squad at the end of 2025.”

From November last year.

He certainly has the physical attributes but I haven't quite seen the game-breaking speed that his older brother has.
