POST GAME Round 24 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

I don't know why you bother. Do you enjoy providing an outlet for the mentally impaired?

The Kennel is the online equivalent of a centrelink dole queue. Shallow end of the gene pool and then some.

Centerlink dole queues have far more intelligence than the Kennel.

On the Milford break, last year deadset he scores that himself, why was he so conservative & not willing to back his speed? a bit put off by that :(

He injured his knee a couple of days before the game.

I would say that would have been the reason why.

Well if anyone would know about rorting the salary cap it would be the dogs, it got them a premiership.

Hey!!

It wasn't flashy, but I'd dare rate that win among the Broncos best this season.

Make no mistake about it, that game was September come early and both teams came up with some sensational plays.

What I liked from Brisbane is that they weren't afraid to back themselves. From their opening set, they displayed plenty of confidence spreading the ball and really caught the Bulldogs off-guard. This seemed to ring especially true on the Ben Hunt try, where the Broncos neglected the two point lead and decided to have a crack at half-time. While the Broncos were fortunate, it was a nice reward and Ben Hunt showed how slippery he can be close to the line.

As daring as Brisbane were with the ball, it was their defence that won them the game. The kick-chase was on song and the goal-line defence was a throwback to 2015. The Broncos really got stuck into the Bulldogs on key plays and the defence, especially from the inside players frustrated the Bulldogs into error. There was only one blemish with Gillett failing to mark up on Kasiano, otherwise it was a very impressive display.

The win certainly makes the race for the Top 4 that more interesting heading into the final two rounds of the competition. If Brisbane can build on this performance and gain some measure of revenge against Melbourne & Sydney, you never know. If the Broncos do go onto achieve a Top 4 spot, it'd be interesting to know who they'd rather play between the Storm and the Sharks.

Lots to look forward to, but last night was certainly a nice way to kick the round off.

Most everything has been covered. Tough defence by the Broncos, deplorable officiating, dog like tactics by the dogs...

I want to give a shout out to Jordan Kahu. A month out the game and he played a great game and split the uprights a few times. I was really impressed with his performance and while he is injury prone, nobody should doubt that he is a hard playing classy player.

My main concern of the night is actually Oates. I haven't heard any reports but he has had too many head knocks for one season. It is a worry. You want you players to push the envelope but you do really worry about his long term health and wellbeing. Hope the kid is ok.

For me, in some ways, given the, recent "slump" even better than 2015. We owned the 'Dogs pack like you wouldn't believe. A first rate game plan and we stuck to it superbly.

Except for a bit of clumsy play on the right side in attack, we're back big time for mine.

Last night, I sometimes wondered if Kahu and Roberts ought to swap. The moree I think of it, the more I see Roberts play, the more I think "winger".

Great to see smiles, and laughing. Was good to see the team really stand up for Parker too. Kind of puts the rumours to bed IMO.

Yea i definitely agree on Roberts is looking like a winger. He hasn't really shown any signs of improvement in being able to run lines and his passing is abysmal. He's just a pin the ears back and run for it kind of player. I would like to see him snd Kahu swap around on occasion in the next few weeks during some set plays. Kahu has silky hands and can set up his winger so it just makes sense to atleast give it a crack. I would love to see Roberts make some kick returns too. The two main worries if it were to be a long term move are Roberts under the highball (no idea hoe he eould go) and if Kahu could handle centre physically with all his injuries.

He's certainly not big, no, but he's agile which he showed last night with some nice stepping to beat Morris, and when he played FB, he ran the ball hard and straight, great hands as people know and say and he's always been my choice for left centre.

As for injuries, well, I could mention Hodges but I won't.

Roberts to left wing - fills a vacancy - and I think he'd be amazing running the ball back from kicks .... but yes, what's he like under the high ball? For mine Roberts is a worry setting up his winger which showed last night.

Anyway, I'm just glad Kahu is back wherever he plays. He is all class and adds so much value to the team in so many ways.

Just got banned because they are retarded. Seriously they have a lot of posters who are just bizarre. When I asked 1 of them to back up any of the claims made with evidence they banned me. No abuse or swearing just pretty normal stuff.

They accused the Broncos of rorting the cap, being protected by the game (IE Greenburg), of stealing Barba having the most 7 day turnarounds, of getting favours by playing Friday nights and accused Andrew Gee of taking out loans and having the club repay them.

The empty can rattles the most :winky:

So basically they ran the gauntlet of tired old conspiracy theories about the Broncs because they had no argument to back up Kasiano. Figures. Some of the fanbases in this comp have some real dropkicks amongst them.

Sounds like they expect cage fighting to win games. You can't apply logic to people like that. Its pure jealous. Pains them to admit we won through skill and hard work it has to be something else.

Another enjoyable yet satisfying performance. It had a finals intensity to it and my heart was pumping the entire game. Loved how we fired up and smashed the doggies at the end.

I don't want to get into the whole "are we back" talk but we've definitely improved.

As good as we played, the Bulldogs really did the best they could to lose that match.

It's like they were trying to offload because that was the game plan, but were always choosing the wrong time to do it. Obviously we were finally able to shut down the offloads (woohoooooo) and frustrated them, but seriously they were a complete rabble in attack. How many errors did they end up making?

The only reason there was 10 points in it is the refs kept them in the game. There have been 2 tough, legal tackles this week - one in the Raiders game and one last night that were penalised. Infuriating as a fan to watch. All the player has to do is say "ouch sir" and it's a penalty.

I put the majority of Bulldog mistakes down to Bronco pressure.

I've just watched the presser form the Bulldogs, I think I would find it hard to spend any amount of time with Des Hasler.
His breathing would drive me insane.
