PRE-GAME Round 24 - Broncos vs Eels

Anyone else also starting to question Milford's ability?
I think he should go back into the halves but he aint worth anything close to a million imo. He hasn't shown much since 2015.
I would be seriously reconsidering re-signing him when off contract. I am more then positive that we could get much better value for money going to the market with a million $ rather then re-signing him.
I think we have given him a fair crack, he just isn't delivering when we need him most, unfortunately - I've been a massive supporter of his, but it's really starting to stand out to me that he isn't influencing our team much these days.
I think it will be very interesting to see what happens when it comes time to sign Milf... and it will almost be a test case for all the halves signed on big money for potential.

Realistically he hasn't lived up to the potential only because he is not a regular origin or Australian player and is not completely owning games to get us the victory.... but could that be due to the personnel around him in the spine?

I believe he is still very important to this team, but is he worth a million?? Probably not at the moment, but I still see potential for a seriously good player in the right system

Is Milf willing to take a pay cut?? Very very unlikely

Is another team willing to throw a million at him for potential?? Maybe and if so are the Broncos willing to match it in order to keep him??

If we lose Milf for 2021 our spine becomes very very young and totally unproven probably:
1. Isaako/Niu??
6. Paix/SOS
7. Dearden
9. Turpin

To me that spine could be several years off and is totally reliant on potential, so losing Milf potentially shuts our premiership window.

Even throwing Ponga in there (someone high profile and available in the market for 2021) doesn't fill me with much hope as I see Milf as a better leader in the team

I believe he has a player option for 2021 so we can expect rumour articles on the daily.

To me I would be happy to give him a 2yr extension on about the $900-950 mark which I believe he is currently on... that pushes him out to 2023 and gives the young spine likely to be around him time to develop and also gives Seibold at least one experienced player of quality in his spine.

On the flip side maybe Seibold doesn't want Milf chewing up cap and maybe doesn't believe in his potential... so if that's the case he could be on the move in little over 12 months 😬😬😬

Ah the Boyd train has left the station so now let’s pile on Milf. Awesome.

I’m sure when he re-signs it won’t be for the same cash so we can all settle down. Or he’ll just go to the Storm and carve up with Munster.

Be careful what you wish for.

Maybe Farnworth is getting the call up, didn't play Q Cup. Oates might get a rest.

If that's in response to my post then it shouldn't be perceived as piling onto Milf. I mention several times that I believe he is very important to our team and if we were to lose him our premiership window could very well be shut.

But in response to the second part I think it is very unlikely he will be taking less than what he is currently on... it's like taking a pay cut to do the same job. Not many would be willing to do that especially if there are options willing to pay more or the same to do the same job... and he is in the prime of his career.

This is why I think it will be interesting to see what happens with all these contracts thrown out for potential (Atay, Bhunt, Cleary, Morgan, everyone at the warriors, etc.) when they don't exactly represent value for money at the time that contract expires. The clubs can't really expect a player to take less unless there are no other options for the player and I can't see that being the case for Milf... who I believe has been playing at a good level, but not quite million dollar level

Two games left and Oates gets a rest?

He's been playing injured, having to get injections to play. Head knocks and injury, might as well.

Though we need someone to match Sivo.

Sivo plays on the left, it'll be up to Isaako to match him.

It would be nice to see him playing his natural game like he was in 2015. Stop trying to make him a fullback, stop trying to make him a game managing half.

Cannot agree more. Let him run around the middle like a touch footy player.

Surely Herbie or Perese will benefit more getting first grade experience (if only for 10-15 mins) than that sack of potatoes
