POST GAME Round 24 - Broncos vs Eels

If we can manage to get some organisation/danger in our attacking structures, it will be scary considering the amount of individual brilliance we have in this team to compliment/play off the back of it.

Well......

Boyd, hat off to him for seriously improving his game. The chat during the week was probably line in the sand for him and his career and i think he responded with that tonight.

The rest of the squad is building into something very very good. The biggest thing that considering all the new young kids, is they are already starting to learn how to win and getting a taste for that hunger. Last year under WB and the previous mix of the squad they had forgotten that hunger and ways.

Get the halves sorted with Turps 9/Seggy, Dearden 7, Milf 6 and possibly at this stage Boyd would be capable of playing at fullback from what he showed tonight. Milf would be free at 6 again with SoS or Dearden at half.

With Bird back next year **** this side is scary to where it can go. Seibold is also doing very well.

I also like it that broncosgoat is copping it with a big one and lubless. Made my night.

Any more Bennett V Seibold bullshit and we'll be issuing thread bans.

Enough is enough, we've been ignoring it for weeks but the same 3-4 posters arguing the same 2 points to infinity in every other thread is getting nauseating.

Discuss the actual game, or don't post in this thread thanks. If you really need to discuss those particular points, the PM function exists.

If we play the Rabbitohs in a knock out final I feel like everyone is getting banned.

It’s a small thing but what I liked last night was the emotion from the boys. Like Staggs after he put that hit on Brown, I liked him standing over Brown and giving it to him. Or even all the boys getting around SoS after he forced that mistake.

I’ve also gotta give a shoutout to Carrigan as well, he epitomises what it is to be not only a Bronco but a Queenslander and I’m stoked that he’s starting to rise to the occasion now.

Fifita currently is a better player than Haas imo. The difference is between them for me is despite the huge meters he runs, Payne just hasn't got the physicality and aggression in his game that Fifita does. Once he gets it, look out.

Genetics, fitness and mental strength. He is a true professional and some experienced NRL players across the game should take note.

Almost feels filthy knowing we are paying Haas what the Titans are paying for Leilani fucking Latu!

Dare I say.... #thankswayne?

😂

As footy players they are pretty even. But Haas pips him all day. Only because of the fact he's easier on the eyes. Fifita has a face only a mother or a Broncs fan could love. Haas on the other hand is simply gorgeous.
I still want to be the meat in a Haas and fifi sandwich, looks aren't everything, fifi has an amazing personality

It’ll be everyone accept me.

If we are going to play the rabbits I can feel it in my bones we will win and everyone on this forum will be absolutely giving it to me

Lastly , props to Fergo for scoring a great rugby league try. I personally thought his “forward pass” try was also a try.
Forward pass rule is a blight on the game and should be fixed. Should be - if player catching the ball is in front of the guy passing its forward. So simple. Fergo was at best a meter in front. That would stop all this unnecessary confusion. Forget all this BS about coming out the back of the hand or ball drifting forward. Simply make allowance for it drifting when passing. So many forward passes, particularly the short ones are let go far to often.

I'm not sure this side will do anything this year...but I'm also not sure they won't.

That refereeing was, as always, absolute rubbish and goodness me, any time I turn highlights and hear commentary (I watch full games on mute), it is just the same constant rubbish from commentators. Give it a rest, I (and most people I am sure) don't want to hear your constant backward, biased and purely unprofessional opinions the whole way through a game. I wish there was a way to get a decent, professional call of a game without these idiots constantly talking nonsense.
Couldn’t agree more. The Fox arseholes only had eyes for Parra. You would be forgiven for not knowing who they were playing listening to Gasnier particularly the last 20 minutes. It was as though they were willing the Eels to win. *****.

You know what else I like there, Brisbane actually looked like they had that planned, even blockers in place.
Look at Klein in the replay he so wanted to blow a penalty but heard the crowd and decided his life wasn't worth it.

There's crusher tackle on Fifita in the 11th minute. The same play that sos gets smashed after he passes the ball, if only his name was Cronk. Let's see if either incident gets picked up.

I’m not buying into the coach vs coach debate; but if the players are responsible for losing a GF, then it can surely only be the players responsible for winning them too?

So by that logic, no coach has ever won any premierships?
Not hard to grasp if you watched it champ , players lost it in the dying seconds, then of cause the dropped ball.
We where in it and looked like taking it until some bad decisions led to a loss , had nothing to do with gameplan. But yeah whatever suits

Starting a GoFundMe so we can all chip in to keep Saint Fifi at Red Hill

Yeh I saw the crusher on Fifi I'm sure ch9 commentators were to busy jerking each other off then as none of them said a word and big Sammy was way too sozzled to say a word either. Also Paulo's shoulder charge on SOS went by without a word. Wonder if he'll get cited for that. There were a few incidents on Milf that I thought warranted a penalty but again nothing was said. And the Milf 'strip' which was deemed a loose carry was more than replicated down the other end when it was dropped, went forward, was knocked on again on it's way into the in goal and only then a Bronco hand touched it yet there was no loose carry and only a knock on against us.

I mentioned Fergo's accidental/intentional/careless wack to MIlf's head which was played over again on the big screen so no one missed it yet no action from Klein.

It's got to the stage where your mates need to run and do a bit of push and pull so that the ref feels obligated to award the penalty.

Another stinker of a game by Oates. I'd be letting him walk to be honest. Not worth anywhere near the $600k a season he wants. To my knowledge, fergo is the only other winger on that money and he has dominated Oates every game they have played this year.

Boyd's best game in a year or two. The line break where he just ran was nice to see. That's been my issue with him. Not taking the line on and appearing scared to get tackled. Try showed good effort, although nothing too special. Did seem to go missing again when the game was on the line though.

Its getting to the stage for me where its obvious there is manipulation involved. Its across the league. The way suspensions are handled, penalties and colour commentary. Its borderline sports entertainment at times with what is going on.

The broadcast media is who I blame. They change their tune every week. They want the wrestle gone then complain about penalty counts. They want halfs protected and sin bins used then complain the game is getting soft and sinbins could cost a team. They want contest in the game then complain about stripping. The big one is the media want tight down to the wire games. They want these golden point games. They want there to be dubious calls that have impact on an outcome so they can then write a story.

The cap manufactures an even comp, ref Kpi's manufacture on field decisions. If we had less tight games we would have less emphasis on referee decisions. Hence sports entertainment, its all about generating a spectacle.

The NRL needs to get KPI's out of refereeing and should scrap the cap and let the teams sink or swim on their own merit. If you did that teams would move out of Sydney on their own accord and look to Perth, Darwin, the central coast, sunshine coast or Redcliffe for options. But they know the teams who would dominate and there is to much self interest in the game for it.
