POST GAME Round 24 - Broncos vs Eels

Not hard to grasp if you watched it champ , players lost it in the dying seconds, then of cause the dropped ball.
We where in it and looked like taking it until some bad decisions led to a loss , had nothing to do with gameplan. But yeah whatever suits
You’ve missed the point completely, so allow me to spell it out for you.

To blame a GF loss solely on a player / the players or the coach / coaching staff is just ridiculous. Sure, some moments are bigger than others, but there are literally thousands of Sliding Doors moments in a season, it makes it impossible to isolate one without bias - whether intentional or not.

And FTR; we did not lose the 2015 GF in the final seconds, champ.

We lost it in the last 15-20 or so minutes when we completely shut-up shop and tried to defend our lead, rather than keep doing what had been working - play football.

That was the game plan - coach called it, players executed it.

The loss was not solely on Bennett, nor the players - it was on all of them as group. Same goes had we won.

Lose together, win together. To suggest otherwise only further highlights your ignorance.

EDIT: I can understand people straight after the game, when emotions are running high, blaming Ben Hunt for the loss (as an example). He absolutely had a final 5 minutes to forget. But people were also so quick to forget he was a huge reason we even got there.

If people still can’t see that almost 4 years later, then they are simply looking for a scapegoat.

Solely on ben hunt. Always has been, always will be.

I just finished watching my second replay of thd match and you guys and gals claiming SOS was putrid/terrible/dreadful need to reconsider. The CM gave him 6.5 and that's fair enough but it could easily be a 7.

He was great in parts and good in others but he was far from bad. Sure a couple of his kicks were taken on the full but 90% of kicks are too. He's a must for next week and like Turps, a serious competitor and a hard little nut. Seibold would be mad to break apart Boyd and SOS. In two games they've developed more of a combination than Boyd and Turps did over 6 or more games.

It’ll be everyone accept me.

If we are going to play the rabbits I can feel it in my bones we will win and everyone on this forum will be absolutely giving it to me
Why would we accept you? To do that we'd have to make an EXCEPTION!

His defence was first class last night, bringing down Lane and Paulo on a number of occasions. Tough little hombre.

Got me before I got my edit in, only just saw this now.

See the edit to my original post.

If you truly believe what you’ve said, I have nothing more to add.

Regardless of what he did to get us there, he completely bottled it in the last 5 minutes as you said. Not just the drop, but events leading up to us even being in the position to concede the try.

All true.

But there are other ‘what ifs’.

‘What if’ McCullough passes to Parker and he scores, we have a bigger, maybe even insurmountable lead?

‘What if’ Hodges got suspended?

‘What if’ Bennett used the bench differently?

Could go on forever.

As I said, sliding doors.

Some are bigger than others, but the reality is, if we were good enough, we would have found a way to win - just like the 2006 QLD Origin side. Nothing went our way, but we still found a way to win it.

Is this the post 2015 GF thread?
Sorry, bit off topic.

When McC went to the bin I was like ".....Oh....Oh noooooo....what ever shall we do now"
Macca was left out there because he shored up our defence in the middle, but more importantly, was constantly harassing their kicker. Considering how terrible our kicking game was (think of the number of balls that were taken on the full or went over the dead ball line), that was vitally important to keep us from constantly working out of our corners.
His passing was average, but not terrible but those little parts of the games are often missed. I noticed seggy doing the same at dummy half at the end of the match and I think that was either from the coaches instructions or watching macca. either way I'm very happy he was out there.

I thought his kicking was terrible tbh, but his positioning, general half play and defence at 7 was streets ahead of Turpin there.
