I hope Norman stays at fullback.

I was enthused by his performance ......although not totally convinced of his defence. Prepared to play him a couple more games in order to find his feet.

Seeing Hoffman's highlights for Redcliffe looks like he'll fit onto the wing no probs.

Hoping to see Hunt get his hands on the ball more.

Agreed, infact I'm looking forward to it, I would like to see our halves kicking for him at the oppositions line a fair bit given his great under the highball. I also think he will benefit more from having his inside players creating opportunities for him, his much better when given open space to utilise then trying to create opportunities for other players.

As for Norman tbh I wasn't too concerned with his defensive effort against the bulldogs, IMO what he offered in attack that we have really lacked from fullback outweighs some bad decisions in defence he made, still we need to see more of what he can offer from there before we can be totally convinced he should remain there.

This is the one round where we really don't have anyone better than Gillett to start with. If Parker plays, then sure, drop Gillett to the bench and Te'o into the 2nd row. Otherwise it's not like Lui or Gibb are better at the moment.

Idk..
Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I think playing 12 men is possible better than playing Gillett. Should be just as many defensive holes, only less errors.

Fuuuuu....

Not a fan of this team at all.

It hurts. To think we would be in this situation by missing the 8, when we're coming 2nd during the early part of the season. Even next year for example. When we're coming 1st, 2nd or 3rd for a few weeks or months, it will all mean nothing if we hit this wall again. And that's what hurts the most.

Really harsh on Maranta but I think Hook has made the right move. We need more spark and more attacking option. Norman at the back gives us that. He might be a bit rough on defense as a fullback but that can improve.

Come on guys, were only 5 games off the wooden spoon...

On the Maranta thing, I think he's being managed to avoid the second year syndrome - I think he'll be starter next year.

What in particular Pete? I don't mind it. Maranta is unlucky but I'm willing to see what Hoffy can do on the wing. I liked him running with some flair in the redcliffe highlights. The bench/Gillett starting isn't excellent but that is injuries. My only real problem is Capewell. Would prefer Baptiste. Happy to lose Lui as well, as I've said before.

I'm not a fan because of that shitty bench, though I know it's due to injuries. It could easily end up like it did against the Bulldogs, where the benchies come on and pretty much kill any momentum.

Don't like Norman at fullback, yeah, he was all things considered solid against the Dogs but I just know there are faults in his game that Bellamy will be looking to exploit.

How Wallace retains his spot is beyond me, let Norman into five eigth, Wallace on the bench.

Gillett should be benched, Dodds or Gibb come in and play the defensive workhorse role.

J. Wallace >>>>>>> D. Lui.

Also annoyed about the McGuire injury & Parker's unlikely chances of playing. Not much that can be done though but it sucks.

There's every chance they could do a swapamagig whenever we are defending.

I'm sure they ... might, but whatever, Griffin is smart and good enough to know his teams's strengths and weakness, and know that Bellamy also knows.

The issue is for the team to keep attitude, discipline i defence and quality execution for the whole 80 minutes.

In other words 4 x the first 20 mins v Dogs

I'm assuming we are going to go into the game with the same attack plan as we did in the early stages against the Dogs. Our best attacking movements all started with either Civo or Hannant passing the ball, just like with the Dogs it usually starts with Kasiano or Graham. I hope they both have a lot of minutes in them, and that the replacement props continue moving the ball when running at the line.

I don't really see the point then.

Seriously, am I the only one who remembers Norman's stint in 2010 and 2011?

Ummm, he was 17 years old, and far less experienced. Little thing called development hey.

19 actually.

I'm sure Hook has had him spending every off-season working on his game at fullback.

The point is that Norman could add more to our attack, and Hoffman more to our defence and kick returns.
