Yeah but the make up of our side needs a ball playing fullback, rightly or wrongly we're better off with Norman there in attack as the Hoff doesn't cut it. Unfortunate for him our halves are struggling but they are.

Some of you seem to be going so far around in circles you're turning yourselves inside out in an attempt to shift/point the blame at anybody other than the player who is at the root cause of our attacking problems. i:e Peter Wallace

Only weeks ago according to some, Norman was a nuffy who was hogging the ball and couldn't be a play maker to save his arse and Wallace had been out playing him by a country mile

Now he'll (Norman) be our saviour/play maker from fullback .........??

Srsly.......wtf???

Sometimes the simplest solutions are actually the best.

1. Hoffman / Beale
6. Norman
7. Hunt

14. Wallace

Norman is a nuffie at 5/8, has been for most of the season but we got by because Wallace was still playing well. Norman at fb won't all of a sudden just fix things but he will get involved more in attack (which has already been shown) and can do the things that suit his game more ie ball runner/part time play maker rather than be lumped with the burdens of a full time 5/8, he played like a centre anyway when we had him in the halves.

Wallace isn't your traditional half by any means, Lockyer played more as a halfback from 5/8 than Wallace did but it worked which is why having Hunt in the halves theoretically should work also and is a better option than having Norman in the halves. The numbers on Hunt and Wal's back mean nothing just as they did when Locky was in the side.

And at the talk of Wallace not being able to play deep, look at our highlights with Lockyer in the side, Wal played some great deep attacking football, this side just isn't and to think Norman and Hunt rather than Hunt and Wal will is wrong.

And Beale probably would be a better option at the back than Norm but he's leaving, may as well develop Norman there.

What would Norman add from 5/8 that Wallace/Hunt couldn't? Running, that's it. He won't throw the pass we need when the pressure is on or follow a plan through, he will take a hit up (let's just play Sam T there derp derp) or throw hospital passes to Reed and we'll then have him on the sidelines with a broken leg again.

The problem with dropping Wallace is Norman has been equally as bad and is shit in defence. Wallace at the very least has experience and good defence on his side.

On form, you'd still have to go Norman though.

At least he actually set up some tries. Heck, Wallace's defence has been pretty ordinary as of late so it's not really worth comparing.

This isn't some anti-Wallace agenda, it's an anti-rewarding bad form agenda.

I still think Reed will discover ridonkulous form at fb.

Hoffman is a very good traditional fullback (though his support play has been mediocre lately). He's definitely one of the better players in our side, but he is not really an attacking option. For balance sake, we need someone with vision and a passing game at fullback, at least while our halves are so mediocre too.

I'm not opposed to shifting Hoffman to the wing for the time being.

I'm just opposed to playing a mediocre fullback in his place.

The way I'd go about it is

1. Norman
2. Hoffman
3. Reed

in attack. Norman just provides more options out there.

1. Hoffman
2. Reed
3. Norman

in defence. Hoffman is clearly our best defensive fullback.

I don't like swapping a side low on confidence around. Especially with the idea of Norman defending in the backs.

Yet you want a less-than-mediocre 5/8th playing in the 6 jersey??

Rather him than his even more out of form halfback variant who should know better.

If we had better options in the halves, I'd take them. As it stands, I'd rather give Norman/Hunt another shot. Wallace got his chance and has continued to fail.

Rightio. You still sound angry. Gotta learn to chill bro.

You haven't seen me when I'm angry.

I'm not and this thread isn't to discuss my temper so please play the ball & not the man.

No worries. Wouldn't want that temper to rise any higher than it is now anyway!!

Wallace unfortunately had to deal with having Norman as a halves partner for most of the season, I'd be down on form and confidence to if I was him.

I think it's going to take more than one game for Hunt and Wal to strike up a combo.
