This would be the ultimate of fairy tales though. In 2014, the Broncos had to rely on three results going their way after losing to Melbourne on the Friday night. Incredibly, all three teams lost and the Broncos fell ass backwards into 8th. An even bigger miracle will need to occur this weekend though.

It's something that needs to stop if the NRL are going to continue taking millions from gambling companies.

There's a lot of money involved in gambling, so there needs to be a lot more transparency. But the NRL either don't realize this or they just don't care.

I can understand unexpected things happening like COVID or family emergencies etc, but mostly teams just exploit it like they do everything else, because it's all about gaining some kind of advantage.

Either way, it's still a shit system that needs quite a few tweaks.

Really? The NRL is anything but fair.

If it was fair:
* All teams would play all other teams the same number of times
* Origin wouldn't force teams to field rookies and suffer mid season dips
* Don't even get me started on the match review committee and variation in punishments throughout the season
* How about mid season changes to rules or rule interpretations
* Millions of dollars are spent on a bunker to get decisions correct, yet they can't rule on things like blatant forward passes.
* I'm sure there are a dozen other examples of how poorly run the organisation is.
