PRE-GAME [Round 3, 2025] Broncos vs Cowboys

Why is Reece even taking kick offs?
I would say it's because he doesn't have to chase the kick and be part of the defensive line.

Teams do different things on kick off... Blayke Brailey does the kick offs for Sharks... presumably because he's just running down and forming the middle defence, whereas Trindall or Hynes would be needing to get across to their edge

I think Paps for storm (similar reason to Reece), etc.

Surely whoever makes way for Staggs (this week or next) becomes our 18th man. Much more useful to have an outside back as emergency cover than Smoothy who can basically only play 9. Have thought he was an odd (risky) choice for 18th man these past 2 weeks.

That`s what I`ve been saying for weeks .
Billy has agressive defence . Paix is a hugger . Paix could lift tempo . Billy , nah .
Cam Smith was a hugger, it's about conserving energy. If like Cam he would consintrate on control in the tackle then that would be great. It's something Blake seems to attempt.

I want crisp delivery and an attacking threat out of hooker. Not a hitter, if your expending energy attempting to shot blokes you can bet other areas suffer.

I want my middles owning that area of the game.

Cam may have been a hugger, but he was strong as ****... he could handle most middles up top and wrestle them to the ground and get them on their back.

Completely different to the Damien Cook style hugging, where he will catch them and then get pushed back 5m until help comes.
