Out of the game last week what’s Mariner getting dropped for? What about Shibasaki? He got an absolute bath out there
Staggs has starved mariner of the ball for 2 weeks, any of his hit ups he almost makes a line break - I think this is a mistake dropping him
And as for Reynolds, almost certain the last 3 games against the Storm he has gone off injured.. effff him off and retire the bloke
 
Yeah I'm not a fan of Mariner being dropped - was definitely better round two and a victim of Staggs having an absolute howler. He'd have had a nice late try assist if the lemons on the inside came through in support.
 
I don't agree with Mariner being dropped that is for sure. I just have a feeling he is the guy that will go to the Wahs so make sense to bring Anderson if that is the case.

Madge isn't afraid to make the tough calls ... I don't expect Mariner to be down too long ... Unless the back line start killing it

Those idiots are going to make up stories anyway, we just won the comp for crying out loud but you would think Maguire is first coach sacked the way they carry on.
 
I think mariner getting dropped is the right call. The effort hasn't been there from him both games. Yes shiba has been worse but you can see he is trying, just getting targetted in defence. Mariner has so much potential but he is using about 50% of it.

With these tough spells I value effort over form. Effort the players can control, form comes and goes.
 
I hope madge gets a bit more inventive with his bench this time though. Mariner 18th and duffy 19th would be deadly I think. Safeguards us against reynolds. And mariner could come on with 10 to go and the games on the line in the right scenario. Wouldn't mind x starting in the middle too, with jensen playing 40 mins off the bench. Him and gos are getting spotted out of the line with big hits that kills our momentum.

You could always shuffle Shibs or Staggs into second row for a short stint too and let Mariner go nuts at centre or wing with Anderson shifting to centre.
