It’s not that we lost it’s that he’s not getting busy unlike karapani 160 meters and 150 it’s about the effort
I don’t remember Mariner being lazy, the ball just didn’t get to him as much. Kicks went to our left wing more often, they clearly wanted to hit that side all night. Anderson or Arthars would have seen just as much ball.

Gordie is right about this one.

No he isn't.

It's childish shit. This whole mentality that players aren't committed if they do stuff like this is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard. It reminds me of the idiotic posts on social media where a player will post up a pic and there will be fans in the comments "No WoNdEr YoU'rE nOt PlAyInG wElL, tOo BuSy PoSiNg FoR pHoToS!". What are they supposed to do? Spend every waking moment on the training paddock? There's no training, it's their time off between games and training, there's nothing wrong with them going on a panel especially when it's to support a mate that's about to break a major record.

He's got a rib injury, it's not as bad as thought, he can fly. It's fine.

Reyno is a competitor. He's committed. There are a few players at the club that are always committed and Reyno is one of them.

Did Deine like a post shit talking Madge, if not he's all good.

Gordie could be right but it wouldn't matter to me because it's Gordie. I give zero ****s about his opinion.

On the Reynolds thing, as has been said he risked no further injury by heading to Sydney on Saturday...apart from maybe the tightness of that suit. This would have been penciled in a while ago by Fox given the amount of football he and AJ played together. I imagine he had a hand in a lot of those trys.

Reynolds is professional. His loss of ability due to being banged up is no reflection on his commitment. It’s actually insulting to suggest otherwise.

It’s just like CONEHEAD being a moron and Bronco hater now is no reflection on his amazing performances for us as a player.

The optics are bad. Sure he can fly and get around but it still doesn't look great when we could see him struggling to walk off the field.

How are the optics bad? He copped a big hit in the ribs on a Thursday night, he's walking around and sitting on a plane by Saturday... that seems pretty normal. Even if his rib was broken he'd still be able to do that.

Bit confusing...

If the plan was to put Shiba on bench to allow Anderson into the side and then use Shiba to cover our thin back row depth then fine, I can see the merit - but why put Willison to 11 too? Never been a fan of Willison at back row, weakens our forward rotation considerably. Seems strange to do both.

If that's not the plan, then why include Shibasaki on the bench at all? Is Piakura good to go? JHunt is in the squad, he could have straight subbed for Gos. Seems like a lot of moves and it's a VERY light bench if we run as-is.

On the bright side, glad they pushed Mariner in to accommodate Anderson, rather than leaving Mariner wide and putting Anderson at centre..

Surely some changes before kickoff.

The Anderson/Mariner move I like. Mariner didn't get much ball last week, and he's a centre first (despite barely playing there at NRL level). I'm keen to see it.

Shibasaki to the bench is weird... means he's sharing the load at 2nd row with Willison? X really shouldn't be wasted out wide but I know why here's there this week.
If Piakura passes a fitness test surely he comes in for Willison or Shibs on the bench... but I am keen to see how Shibasaki does at 2nd row.

If Reynolds is still too sore to play, Hunt to halback (Mozer to hooker/bench utility) or maybe even Duffy straight into the starting side? That'd be a tough call.

Glad Madge is holding some of these players accountable. The premiership players have had 3 games to prove themselves, but now its back to having to earn to keep your spot.

Assume piakura might be a late swap with Wilison given he passes whatever tests he needs to pass.

You need to think of the bench in terms of the full 6 players now.

Good chance Shibasaki only takes the field if we lose an outside back

Interesting team list. The coach has to make the players accountable and so I support the changes.

How is Grant Anderson under the high ball?

Keeping mistakes to a minimum is the key to goign toe to toe with the Storm. Plus they really do have some strength and height in the backline don't they?

I sometimes wonder if our own backline gives too much of both away at times..?

Looks to me like Madge wants to avoid playing J Hunt if possible because Storm will target him big time. Piakura won't be fit enough for a full game so Willison starts and then Piakura comes on maybe at 30 mins,. If he can't last the game or there are injuries Shibasaki has to cover 2nd row. Mozer, Arthars and Duffy only there for injuries.
