Would Lyons have played till 37 in the modern era, I don't think so, not in the 6 again bs era.

Cam Smith was a freak and also got away with few recurring injuries.

It has become common these days for back rowers to play center & a center to play on the wing or play next to half.

I think we have struggled to have a player they can play centre and back row since Capewell left.

I don't know if Shiba can play back row. Maybe Bradley could do this job too? It would be good if we had someone. Maybe not as important with 6 man bench but some NRL quality second row depth would be good. Even our middles don't seem to be good in 2nd row. Willison and Tawha and Hunt haven't really proved their 2nd Row capabilities. Not sure our first string second row have either.

I don't think it's harsh at all, Mam is a way better player than Shiba and Shiba has been a liability in defense forever. Shiba was great and quite frankly an amazing story last year but if we are being honest if it wasn't for that amazing tackle from Walsh he would have cost us the GF and been the villian of the fanbase.

I understand what you mean ...
But we won.
Who knows if he didn't miss that tackle some how he gets through or a penalty..
..

feels like mozer is the type of player who would benefit more from starting. dont like him coming off the bench i feel paix would offer you more as that impact hooker,

will be hard for a young hooker to sit most of the game on the bench and come on in last 10 minutes of first half and expected to have impact

Doesn't need Billy Walters level of impact. Just needs to pass well and make his tackles. Build from there.

I misinterpreted.
It was bad defence but this is a variable in the GF..
Who knows how the game plays out.

This year he has not deserved to keep his spot in the centres starting 13.

Maybe a 2nd row..centre sub..
 
Storm 13+. Our defence has been crap since we started. Hope mariner is up to it. Munster grant hughes will rip us apart ..

For mine an impact dummy half needs to be run threat otherwise they are useless.
Paix is a tacklebot who offers no impact value.

I'm expecting Mozer, with his energy can excel around the ruck with fatiguing forwards.

I think he flourishes personally
 
Myself and the fam are heading down for the game. Hopefully it’s not a blood bath but just in case we get heckled I’ve had this shirt printed and ready to go.

Glad you’re not the coach, him and Gosiewski haven’t been nrl standard, they’ve been horribly passive. This should be the rocket up the ass he needs.
 
I’ll tell you what this side needs and what Ezra needs Jack reed and Matt Gillett. Man feels like forever we’ve had some good back rowers and a great defensive centre.

I hope we don’t resign Jordan Riki he’s probably the worst back rower I have ever seen
