I'm making the point about defence. You made a comment about one Walsh tackle in a grand final. I believe players should be judged on what they do week in week out, not just certain games. As i said, doesnt matter what you have done in previous years. Good footballers dont live off past reputations, they are only as good as their last game.
But my point is, you hold everyone accountable to the same standards, everyone, no matter if its Jayden Hunt or Pat Carrigan. Nobody has said Madge had to pick one or the other to drop. Drop both, its what i would have done if i wanted to send a message about standards. Lets face it, our defence was dogshit last season as well. Its something we need to fix up because we simply wont get out of jail as many times this season as last.

This is my one bugbear with our mob, because how often does anyone on our team actually follow through on the talk?
Sure we won the premiership, but we are just as prone to doing jackshit as well

I'm actually bullish about this game. I think going to Melbourne to face a team who you absolutely know will put a score on you if you're below your best is what the guys needs.
The first two rounds their attitude was a little off and genuinly looked rusty. Probably in that mindset of "we're the premiers we just have to turn up and we'll win". That combined with Madge starting to weild the axe i think will bring a much improved performance
Hunt is more then capable in at half back, maybe we lose a little bit in the short kicking game department but apart from that I think he'll go well. I really want to see Walsh doing more of the long kicking. If we are going to win this we need them starting their sets from the 10 meter line and he has the ability to kick big.

Piaks smashed him in the GF to force a turn-over and get Brisbane back into it.
Then of course Walsh like a man possessed came in and forced a turn-over. Of course Melbourne did one of their hail mary captain's challenges and they found a penalty somewhere in the play.

The Piaks shot was a good hit, but my point was more that it wasnt 80mins of just smashing Stefano anytime he touched it.
Or 80mins of smashing their entire forward pack because they were openly challenged in the media.
They just largely went about their game like they normally do... which always seems to be the case.
Reece's comment is more likely to fire up storm than broncos being fired up
Compare that to dolphins or dogs where their forward pack is pretty aggressive/fast linespeed no matter who they play.
It's a style broncos packs of old used to have, but doesnt seem to be there anymore
