Big jobs for Willison & Talty.

Arey might still be in question. Might drop at any moment in the game. In which case Hunt to halfback, Mozer still on the 6 man bench in case Paix can't do 80.
Yeah 100%. I'd feel a lot more confident with Hunt at 7, but we will see.

Middle rotation was looking like a concern... primarily due to the insanely slow development of BTK.

We cop one injury in the middle and Semu is on the extended with a bench of Talty, Aublix and Jhunt.

We can basically lock Patty into playing 80, but who is even the second prop out of Aublix and Jhunt.

Aublix played prop at dolphins last year so Im guessing it's him, but I think he came through mostly as a second rower.

Hopefully he'll be fired up to play his former team, but Teo was basically the one who brought him to Broncos and Redcliffe before that
Me too. Aublix needs a solid game.

Just our luck. Make the squad okay 89 straight last week in a grind fest and then lose Haas

Clearly they are in protest together… nrl360 probably

Donaghy was asked it in his presser today.

From Andrew Jackson on Fox Sports:

When asked about any potential links between Payne Haas and Te'o leaving the club, Donaghy says that is "unfortunate timing" and that "coincidences happen" in the game. He added that the club did everything it could to try keep the star front rower.

So we’re getting flogged this week?

On a pretty ordinary day for the club, this made me laugh.

I don’t get the Aublix hype, looks like a smaller & more useless version of Riki. Maybe daddy teo will take him with him?
Well, all the hype was he was "training the house down". But, we haven't seen that on field at fking all. Hence why he NEEDS to step up this game. Or we might as well just fill the bench with debutants. Lacking capable NRL ready forwards at the moment, with Haas out.

I think we have enough go forward, with the starting players we have, CJ might need to play more minutes, as well as Xavier, but with the rotation of Talty, Tawha and possibly JHunt, they need to limit the opposition run metres to the same amount that our smaller forwards generate, for 20 or so minutes, and that comes down to defense. It is definitely possible though.

If Riki plays like he did against Storm for the rest of the year, and Piakura can do the same, I'll be very happy. Gives us so much more meterage up the field that we need.

Does it mean, another 80min on the field for Patty? Faaark man, we’re burning him out at a rapid pace.

I absolutely hate it that there’s no capable middles available OR we can’t find anyone so that we can get some balance in the middle third of the field. It’s pathetic that we can only find dumb players(Baker, Tawa etc)with body but no footy brains.

In my view, Patty deserves whatever coin Payne’s on & bit more to be honest. I hope we at least pay him more for the relentless torture we’re putting him through.

I know the stats aren’t the be all and end all for players and just running the ball is the same for hookers but are the hookers at the broncos outright told not to run from dummy half?

Looking at the stats from the first 3 rounds our hookers(not including Ben Hunt) have gone for

Paix 4 runs for 27 metres
Mozer 4 runs for 36 metres
Bukowski 6 runs for 44 metres

Don’t want them all taking off 10 times a game but having a threatening hooker out of dummyhalf would be great instead of just the typical tackle bots that we seem to have had for years.

I agree to some extent but
I wouldn't be weakening our already sub-par defence to increase our attack.
Which is much better than our defence.

However maybe they can learn to pass off the ground and to the chest would be a nice change.

Agree that we don’t need to weaken our defence but having the threat to do something out of dummy half would be great. Freeze the markers a little bit, draw a penalty or two.

Given the fact that we now have the new interpretation of the ruck 6-again call, designed to increase the speed of the ruck, it becomes self-evident just how the best teams are trying to exploit it both offensively and defensively.

In defence, once the 6-again call is made, teams take their time peeling off the tackle to allow their line to reset.

In offence, your dummy half runs from marker.

Thats your cheat code right there to get more fatigue in your opposition.

So yes, we need more threat from dummy half. We need to put doubt into the defence to give our primary ball handlers more time on the ball.

Now the question is: why arent we doing it?
