PRE-GAME [Round 5, 2025] Broncos vs Tigers

At times last year they moved Api to 7, so i wonder if they might look at that to avoid changing Galvin's role.

I'd imagine Fainu will get named at 7, but I can see Api playing 80 across the two positions and tigers looking to play mostly through the middle third.

Locking up Terrell and slowing down the ptb to contain Api will be the two big things to shut down this game

Did that Tigers kid get reported for that " trip " where he dived at the ball runners feet .

Nah doesn't look like it... I think he slipped to end up in that position.

It was bloody lucky for Barney that he was turning at the point of contact, because it could've seriously messed up his knee

Riki has taken the two weeks. So obviously Piaks comes in to start but it will be interesting to see who goes to the 17 jersey.

I imagine the contenders are:
- Hunt (most obvious)
- Mariner
- Taupau
- Te Kura

Or REALLY, REALLY left field because he is nowhere near ready but is a second-rower:
- Bryce

I would like to see big Ben get a run after his awesome start and showing in the trials.

From what I gather instead of being charged with a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge (includes arms), it's a careless high tackle because there's head contact.

Isn't that interesting if true. Because there is head contact, the more severe charge of "High Tackle" is applied...

Luai doesn’t do anything flashy at the tigs, in terms of assists etc, but he does steer the team around and allows Galvin to just play the way he wants.

I watched him yesterday .
Hardly ran the ball . His defence was strong though . They will miss that more than his drop under passes .

This is one of the most disgraceful farces I've seen from the MRO and there have been so many of them, that says so much.
Don't take my word for it. I'm only guessing.

I guess it makes sense in that a shoulder that drives the neck backward or impacts the jaw is worse than one into your deltoid. Mind you, you can get whiplash from a legal tackle.

Any direct contact with the head will be sin-binned this weekend.

NRL sent out an email to all clubs stating several incidents on the weekend should have resulted in sin bins, including Riki and Gilbert's.

They will be cracking down hard this week so hopefully the players take note of that.

Players getting bigger, stronger and faster.

The NRL put in ridiculous rules to force up the tempo of the game, do everything possible to promote fast-paced, continuous, flowing, attacking footy which also creates more fatigue.

As a result, play the ball speed to create ruck momentum is the single most important key to offensive success.

Then, when tackling evolves to move from around the legs to around the torso in an effort to to limit offloads and prevent quick play the balls, there is more incidental, accidental head contact between these fast-moving and heavily fatigued athletes.

This is a problem of the NRL's own making.

But instead of actually addressing this properly, let's just turn the sport into a sin-bin-a-thon... Just follow the PVL formula ... More sin bins = less players on the field = even more points = even more excitement = even more fans = even more money !!! Look how well the sport is doing, we're so profitable!

Look forward to it.

Did they mention Mahoney? Or are attacking players' heads on the ground all good?
