There is definitely a chance, he is on the bench, so there is every chance he comes in at some point.

But on that, we still have Hoeter and Perham we could call on if we wanted to.
Hoeter is injured.

So it was between Nio, Hayze and Coates.

You are probably right but sometimes...you have to give your youth a taste...Verhoeven is clearly a significant talent and Arthars hasn't set the world on fire, so who knows?

I doubt it too but even if he doesn't start, if a back goes down during the game like Anderson next week, he is getting a debut.
I wouldn't want him debuting outside Shiba TBH. He will leave him on an Island.

Don't pretend like I was saying there isn't a chance he ends up on the field. There is zero chance that the tactic is to swap him with Arthars. Verhoeven looks very raw in cup let alone at NRL. Hoeter as I already mentioned is injured and Perham hasn't played outside back in years and only really is able to play at centre so not much versatility if a winger goes down. He is not there for any other reason other than injuries and suspension, he is not going to get a game before Arthars for crying out loud.

He was one of the best 5/8's in the comp in his return last year up until his injury and even when he returned from his injury, he played well.

He's had 4 bad games and you're already comparing him to Milford. It's stupid.

What you're seeing just isn't there.
milf fell off a cliff after pies arrived - it's a bit of a meme that he was shit outside of the 15 GF.

With that said, the club obviously view Verhoeven as an NRL player and it isn't a coincidence they announced the re-signing the day he made his first NRL squad.

If the Broncos were that desperate they could have easily picked Kane Bradley or Alex Lobb as a reserve.

Well then say he is no chance. On the other hand, is he likely to replace Arthars? Probably not but if he kills it at training this week...I wouldn't rule it out. That's all I'm saying.

2016 is a bit deceptive for mine - he started the season as a world beater then the Sharks played us and roughed him up, expecting his inside step.

Other teams followed suit and his career never seemed to recover.

He added a very hit and miss torpedo kick and he was done for development. That was my memory at any rate.

Mams drop off from his near CCM has been even more severe than MIlfords was...
Milford looked disinterested, fat, lazy and unwilling to assume any leadership or playmaking role. That doesn't describe Ezra.

If you only watched the highlights of the last game - other than that embarrassing wayward pass, which was a dumb-shit-happens moment that Reece does five times every game - you would think Ezra had a blinder.

I wouldn't have a bet either way on Ezra right now, but I wouldn't draw a line through him.

Who made the cover ankle tap to save a certain dolphins try deep into the game when they were tired....

Milf would have been hands on hips well before that point at any point after 2016.

Would be interesting to graph out his tries per season with his BMI

he played well and had an impact - that doesnt mean his overall body of work since the 2023 grand final hasnt been below average - hes either had head demons from being called a name or suspended for half of that time. We are miles away from getting value for money from himn

Unfortunately you're uncapable of having a balanced conversation about Ezra Mam, your view will always be clouded because he's not a hard nut from the 70s when being racist was just part of life.

We're in 2026 now, feel free to join us. Racism is not welcome and should not ever be acceptable. I get he did a bad thing in a vehicle, you already hated him though because he "got called a name".

Hated is a stretch --- I'm not alone in thinking he's overrated, other people talking about it is actually what made me bring it up. He's just not that good. Crying over being called a name was the start of me realising he's not that guy... but been very hit or miss since. That's not me excusing racism, either fwiw... just saying it's not worth crying over.

You'd have to walk in his shoes and share his experiences to be able to say that "it's not worth crying over" tho.

It was also not him that informed the ref .. it was Patty, wasn't it?

Hoeter is tough but even he can't play with a broken leg.

Hoeter is injured.

So it was between Nio, Hayze and Coates.

Coates seems nervier, asking him to sit on the bench and maybe play 10 minutes could end in four dropped balls for the poor kid. He's had three in his first two Cup games but scored two tries and had a great put down and great pick up to score and even kicked a great little grubber for himself. Classic Coates family.

Verhoeven is as cool as and plays two positions and he just re-signed so I see it as a bit of a reward.
