POST GAME Round 5 - Broncos vs Tigers

I think the problem Seibs is finding out now is that sure he can give this team a gameplan but quite frankly the 1,6,7,9 just aren't up to or smart enough to execute it.

This is a dumb team and that's why Bennett's simple gameplan sort of worked.

Yeah because reynolds and cook and walker are all Rhodes Scholars lol.

Kodi to hooker he can be our cook...Macca is running this team into the ground he’s the dumbest game reader at 9 I’ve ever seen.
Yeah I want him at fullback but hooker with Turpin or someone to give him a breather is probably best for the team at the moment.

This is seriously uncharted territory, I've never seen a Broncos team lose games like this in my entire time as a fan.

Seibold has pretty much inherited this roster, so there's not a whole lot of blame that can go to him apart from his interchange use, which has been nearly as bad as Bennett's last year, Carrigan should've come on earlier and shouldn't have gone off, I have no idea why Ofahengaue keeps getting second stints, his second stints have cost us 2 games by my calculations, he's that out of shape he is incapable of making tackles in the second half of games, absolutely shocking and deserves to be dropped because of his match fitness.

Also, we need to seriously start considering measuring players intelligence levels before we sign them, I know that might sound harsh, but I think 1-17 we have the stupidest team in the NRL. These guys lack so much situational awareness and collective reasoning in clutch situations that it's almost impressive how many incorrect decisions they make per game. We could have the most talented team in the competition, but without intelligence, we're not going anywhere. Look at our opposition tonight, they're not talented, they're a bog average roster with intelligent game managers, Farah, Brooks, Reynolds, they know what to do and where to put their team to win footy games week after week, everything they do has thought and preparation behind it. Everything our halves do has absolutely no cohesion, training or planing by the looks of it, these guys have taken their "X-Factor" label quite literally and seemingly have no interest in forming or working to a game plan that can reliably win us football games.

All I can say to Seibold is good luck, because this team needs a complete overhaul if we want to win a premiership, or 4-5 years of completely reinstalling the way they play football on a fundamental level.
Good point about players being stupid. Low intell

Great post. Cant argue with anything. I lay the blame for our current state soley with WB. The current roster was assembled by him. Boyd and Milfs contracts are way over the odds. Seibold can only polish turds for so long. Will he do it for the rest of the season and hopefully wing it into the 8. Or will he drop players and possibly cause a player revolt which will mean no top 8.
Personally I would accept the latter if it meant a season of pain for future seasons of gain.
Boyd Milf Macca Jimmy can all go IMO. Kodi can stay as he can play hooker. As a footnote he did okay tonite and created a brilliant try for himself. Still 100pct behind Seibold he knows the score and even if we dont make the 8. PW knows the score.

Not sure if you're joking or not, but Reynolds is one of the smartest game managers in the comp, and Cook choses his moments very wisely. If we had those two in our spine we'd be 4-1.

I said it last week, but I can't believe that we didn't sign Moses when we had the chance. He's playing better than halves getting paid a mil. I know it doesn't solve our on field leadership, but he's been the best half available over the past five years and we turned down an opportunity to sign him and stuck with Niko at HB. Beyond dumb.

Now is the time to be aggressive in the player market. With Seggy looking likely to sign with the Sharks (again) we can and should throw huge dollars at Brailey. That solves one spine spot. Next up is going hard at Moses again or Gutho. I understand Izzy is an idiot, but imagine him at the back compared to Boyd. That's a signing the rorters would make in our position, and they'd make it happen this year.

Izzy won't be back. They have already said he won't be registered in the nrl

I will say this for the Broncos.

There's going to come a stretch of games in the not too distant future where the Broncos lift and play a brand of football that's going to lead to wins. Names like Payne Haas, Jack Bird, Thomas Flegler, Tevita Pangai Jr, David Fifita, Jaydn Su'A are going to be popular and the fans on here are going to feel extremely lucky to have them in the squad. However, this has been the same song and dance from the Broncos the past two years now. They've fooled themselves into thinking certain players have a place in key positions and as time has gone on they've gradually gotten worse. Again, I don't see an easy solution, either it gets worse before it gets better or they just continue to try and buy themselves some time and hope that a player forces them to pick them.

There is going to be some good times ahead, it's just a matter of when. When are they going to have their 'Dragons' moment like the Rabbitohs had last year? That's what they need.

good footy brains i guess. they sound dumb as dog shit when they try to talk though.

Seibold was able to have his tactics work at the rabbits cause he had players like Reynolds and Cook who are capable at being able to carry these plans out. We have a lazy **** in Milford, and a dumb slow **** in Macca who appear to have not double digits of football IQ between them. What hope do we have.

He needs to be sniffing around the midddle so fullback or hooker but anything to get rid of Macca I’m at the point where I’m not sure I can watch this team play with him there anymore

They have footballing IQ! They know how to manage and control a game. Our dumb fuckwits have the football IQ of a fucking squirrel.

He axed Farah for Cook who was a journeyman at the time. I would kill to have Farah in our side right now at a more advanced age. I don't understand what's holding Seibold back from making calls in key positions.

Milford actually tries his guts out each week but surely by now it is obvious to all that he will never make a consistently good 6 or 7. The guy obviously has athletic skills that will produce the odd game winning feats and the temptation is to hope be will do it every week and that is just not going to happen

Five hit ups and a bomb from Milford is not what people come to the footy to see. They have to do more the that, even when working their way out of their own territory.

Because there isn't a Damien Cook waiting in reserve grade. There's a Jake Turpin who's made 7 errors in two games of Queensland Cup. There's a bunch of 18 year old halves who are barely Queensland Cup standard and one with a dicky ankle. There isn't anyone beating down the door making it an easy choice.

Mate I agree 100%. Farah would do wonders for this side I reckon by having a steadying influence at critical moments. Macca plays like a fucking hillbilly from Dalby or wherever he is from.

He wasn't doing that last year.

It's a coaching directive.

Blayke Brailey, Manase Fainu, Wayde Egan, Reece Robson

All 4 of those guys can't crack the starting 13 for their current club, are off-contract for next season and would be immediate and noticeable upgrades in attack for McCullough and would demand less coin than him, just as a cherry on top.
