It's also going to be streamed live on YouTube so people can watch it on their TV if their TV has the YouTube app or a set top box that has the YouTube app.

This was the start of a new era for the Broncos and they were cautiously optimistic about 09 being a premiership season. The return of Lockyer after he struggled with his knee through out 2008 was the key reason as was the acquisition of Israel Folau who proved the difference in last year's State of Origin series.

Further it seemed like their arch rivals Melbourne had been brought back to the pack after they had been utterly embarrassed in the 2008 Grand Final. It seemed like the bloom was off the rose and a new team was ready to step up - Brisbane had as good a case as anyone.

It was also a start of a new era for the Cowboys. Former assistant coach Neil Henry returned after a successful stint down in Canberra and he was viewed as a key figure behind the Cowboys run towards the 2005 Grand Final. They also had Matt Bowen and Johnathan Thurston returning after injury plagued seasons so they were expected to be there abouts come finals.

It was an exciting time for the Broncos with all the young talent coming through. Not only did they have the likes of Jharal Yow Yeh, Alex Glenn and Andrew McCullough making the step up from 20s but they had also recruited some good young talent from other clubs namely Israel Folau, Antonio Winterstein, Lagi Setu and Ben Te'o. Winterstein in particular was a real bolt of blue for the Broncos, originally signing on with their feeder side Easts before earning a contract in the pre-season.

The game itself also marked the debut of the two referee system which saw a spate of game changing penalties which both teams capitilised on. The game never settled into any rhythm as both teams would find themselves in attacking position and it just came down to who had the better weapons. Brisbane scored four tries, but Parker's 1/4 effort meant that Peter Wallace had to step up and kick a field goal despite getting fouled by Manuokafoa. Wallace would become a much maligned figure, but very few doubted his ability to hold his nerve.

Most of the young players played well with Glenn and McCullough stepping up in the late exchanges to ensure Brisbane had all the momentum late. Glenn made a couple of exciting breaks with his flashy neon boots while McCullough showed a lot of maturity keeping the Cowboys boxed in with some kicks into the corner.

Both teams were pretty happy with their performances. The Thurston-Bowen combination looked strong off the bat and would only get better once they got off the rust. Similarly the Broncos looked like they had only scraped the surface of what they were capable of and now that they had got the nerves out of their system they could really do some damage. The key was going to be the following week where they'd get to face off against Melbourne after that heart-breaking semi. If they could win that game, they'd be the competition front runners. Of course that only lasted until Round 4 where Bennett's St George side gave them a reality cheque and they would go onto have a rollercoaster season, but for those first three weeks the sky was the limit for the Broncos.

Ah David Taylor, a perfect example of talent and potential meaning squat without the right attitude and hunger.

Speaking of Jharal, there’s a great interview he did with Vossy on The Fan tonight. Vision of “the thing” is still very raw.

Don't forget this game will be live on Facebook & YouTube tonight at 7:30PM.

You could watch the Fox League Classics game. However, I promise you won't like it.

I am confused as to what game they are playing on fox; they are saying Roosters in r 9 2009, but we played Manly r 9 that year
