Is left centre a curse for redheads? First Michaels who was absolutely horrible defensively, and now Reed...

Why else would Green use him at fullback in defence and hooker in attack then. Also, I had very high hopes for him in the nines being a game I though he would be suited to, but he failed to deliver there. He has had some chances but has faltered so far with his opportunities

He's played two games and played well in both.

Its like saying lets throw McCullough to 5/8, it cant be that hard when in fact it is as they are two completely different positions.

Andrew McCullough was a half before playing hooker!

I hope we don't win by any more than 12...

Why?

I just had a nice long look at our right hand side (with Barba at the back). What a fantastic attacking formation. Hope we use it.

Barba
Hunt
Gillett
Hodges
Copley

Forwards are pretty equal.
Our backs are better.
Their halves shit all over ours.

We do tend to lift against them, but they could just as easily lift against us.

Kind of been thinking of how good it would be to have the Hodges of 2006 back.

01 Hodges
02 Hoffman
03 Reed
04 Copley
05 Vidot
06 Barba
07 Hunt

Hodges on kick returns, breaking the line, drawing 3 defenders and offloading to a winger, or worst case a fast PTB for Vidot to get 10 metres before hitting the defensive line plus another 10 dragging defenders. Tackle 2 and we're already on the half way.

Their halves energize and mobilze both left and right. So far, our left hand side is largely crippled when you compare Sezer to Hoffman.

Sezer is the one player in their side who worries me. In my view, his excellent kicking game may well prove the difference. If we can't shut him down, and defend that left hand side we are history.

They are both quite a bit better than Hunt too.

Well, ever the optimist, I am still hopeful that Hunt will continue to improve and get rid of the crutches given him by the Broncos as 15 minute bench hooker for what, 3-4 years?

For starters, I hope Hunt has been watching Cronk kick to his wingers.

I went to the toilet and got beers and pies when that try was scored. When I got back, everyone said what a great try I missed.

Interesting to see the speed that Michaels had in that movement.

That happens to me every single time.

I left a few minutes before half time in the Eels game to beat the lines at the beer stands, then Copley scores while I'm getting the beers.

Super retrospective post just to sustain the creative juices required to polish off this report...

My perspective on all our past games against the Titans

Game 1 2007 - My memory of this game is very foggy. All I know is, there was a weird circumstance where this was considered a Titans home game, so I couldn't attend on my season ticket and instead went to some random house party where the game was on in the background. I can't really remember much other than Henderson suffered a major injury, Mark Minichiello showed some real promise and Tate came up with one of the dumbest plays I've seen. Seriously, how do you stuff up that badly from dummy half? For mine, this game summed up how frustrating that period of time was.

Game 2 2007 - I believe this was the first time I've seen the Broncos finally win one on the buzzer. After having to sit through losses like Panthers R3 2007 and Dragons R26 2003 it was great to finally see the Broncos pull one out. Game itself was a fun tussle, Brisbane had really gotten themselves together during the rep. period which was sort of strange but very welcome and while we went into this match understrength (no Hunt, Tate and Hodges went off early) there was this expectation we would win and we did. I still remember that set where Taylor scored felt so carthatic, just watching the forwards smash it through and watch Taylor dive his way over like he was a Rugby League 2 character was fantastic. Plus, there was that field goal which was just a work of art. I think it was one of the first times they brought fireworks back (or even to) Suncorp and having them go off to confirm the goal just really made it.

Game 1 2008
- Was dragged to some Reds match against the Force which I don't even remember. Had to keep up with this match on this crappy Nokia app where they would send you the scores and they'd always be delayed and totally sparse on details. Was pretty disappointed to hear that we lost, especially after the start we had made to the season but once I caught some of the vision from the match, I was pretty happy with the performance. From memory, we lost Hunt early and Locky didn't play, plus the Titans were red hot, so to put in the performance we did wasn't as bad as first thought. And yeah, the game will be remembered for that sensational try. Glad it's there as it proves that Michaels truly had a ton of potential prior to his injury. He was a good'un.

Game 2 2008 - I was stuck watching this with my cousins room mate who used one of our season tickets and being a neutral fan, he just tortured me the entire time. If you guys can recall, Maxwell had a pretty controversial game with the whistle and a number of calls went the Titans way and he'd try and justify all of them even if they were clearly wrong and point out all these times when the Broncos should be penalised and look how shit they're playing, they should be winning by more.

He trolled me good.

Game itself was pretty enjoyable. Campbell played a stormer despite suffering a broken jaw and it was a very topsy turvey match. Once again, Lockyer came up with a brilliant play as he read the situation perfectly and went long to Moon (remember him?) before finishing off the play in grand style.

Another enjoyable night out at the footy.

Game 1 2009 - The first game where I genuinely thought Folau was the difference. Scored 4 tries and despite the Titans making a late rally we always seemed hosed and home.

Game 2 2009 - We had a ton of players missing for this one and it seemed like we were no chance at all. However, the game sort of seemed like a turning point, despite having 30 put on us, there seemed to be a lot of good signs coming out of this game as a bunch of our young players showed promise and Hodgo was pretty damn sweet. That play right at the death to Copley was so good, it made the week so much more palatable. That was until the next Saturday...

Game 3 2009 - Pretty much a Henjak esque Broncos game to a tee. Defence completely out the window, but some great offence, particularly from Folau + Taylor. That left hand edge was absolutely deadly that night and just a joy to watch. I've got the game somewhere, will definitely check it out.

Game 1 2010 - Brisbane were just coming off their major upset over Melbourne and capitilised with a commanding performance at Suncorp. I just remember it being a real backrowers game, we seemed to have them playing everywhere - Gillett was taking intercepts out-wide, Glenn in the centres, Setu at prop scoring a sensational try. This win gave me a lot of confidence.

Game 2 2010 - I remember this being a pretty tense game that could have gone either way but in the end, Hoffman of all people came up with this beautiful grubber for Winterstein to win the game. Everything seemed on track at this point for another finals appearance, sadly it didn't end up that way.

Game 1 2011 - Fondly remembered as the return of Hodges, but I tend to remember it as the ugly duckling story as Beale, who was a complete liability on the wing turned in this great performance at fullback which included one of the best try saving tackles you'll see on Will Zillman. Also remember Michaels coming up with this awesome play just before half-time which felt completely out of character for him.

Game 2 2011 - Remember this game being pretty frustrating as the Titans were terrible around this time but as the club would so often do, they turned it around in the second half and Locky really came to the fore, setting up a great try for Yow Yeh basically off the kick off. I struggle to remember this game beyond that though.

Game 1 2012 - A comfortable victory which featured one of the arsiest tries to Hoffman off some Norman juggle.

Game 2 2012 - If ever you want to see the worst of 'Griffin-Ball' I recommend this game. I went back to this game not that long ago and it was basically all there. Pedestrian offence, nothing last tackle options, poor interchanges...it was a shocker. I remember this came off of this really absorbing contest against the Warriors and it just seemed like a flat performance, sadly, it was an indication of the rest of the season for us.

Game 1 2013 - The first real satisfying win of the series. I just remember we bombed the hell out of poor David Mead and while it took sometime, the Broncos ran out convincing winners, scoring 30+ points for the first time in ages.

Game 2 2013
- A bit of a mirage in an otherwise crappy period for the Broncos. Titans lost the plot and gave away a billion penalties and we just piled the points on early to the point where it was basically game over.

Yow Yeh was an absolute freak in that game and scored a remarkable try considering the wet conditions. Lockyer put up the high bomb, a Titans player was about to grab the ball then Yow Yeh just puts his arms out and grabs it. It was raining which just made it even better.

Ha, Bodene Thompson.

What a spud.

But yeah, forgot about the bomb try for Yow Yeh. Superb piece of play from him, as was the lead up work from Reed...really goes to show what kind of form he was in back then.

Big Pete From memory the first game we played against the Titans (even though it was a Titans home game) was taken to Lang Park due to the anticipated crowd and Cararra Stadium was/is a shithole. they also played their very first game against the Dragons at Lang Park too.

I hope this is the Hodges we see tomorrow night.
