I've been thinking for a while now that Hoffman's hogging is strangely similar to Norman last year. Remember when he'd pull off a decent link play and we'd have to point out the 5 occasions where he held the ball and thought he had the speed to get through (blowing an overlap). Hoffman is worse in the hogging stakes, but he's got 5 times more heart.

I thought Mantaletto was filling in, not Mamo?

Thought Mamo looked good in the 9's and the Knights /Indigenous pre season game. Not just fast but fearless in his kick returns. Wouldn't look out of place in first grade, IMO.

I find Snowden overrated.

He adds a lot of muscle and aggression but hasn't really capatalised on it since joining Newcastle.

You'd hope he's up to the task. Between him and Vidot we're looking very susceptible to kicks.

If he continues to struggle, I think he needs a couple of weeks rehab more than a stint in QCup. Certain his confidence problems stem from his dodgy ankle.

F***in' A, Rally! Also, bloody support play needs improvement. It drives me mad on those rare occasions we do bust the line and there is no one backing up. We've probably blown 50 tries the last two years due to no support play.

On an unrelated note: WTF is the web designer for the NRL doing with the text-shadow on the headline, by-line and date for their articles. It makes the font look like a photocopy of a photo of a webpage.
