Why are you all naming a 17 man squad?

Haven't you heard were not allowed to play 17 players,

does anyone have anything official on kahu's recovery? not of the opinion he's the answer to all our problems but he's probably the best option for 6 at this stage, unless you just throw an u20's kid there (which i would absolutely prefer over hoffman).

A week ago Kahu himself said he was between 4 - 6 weeks away yet.

yikes. ok. well throw anyone who's played 6 before at 6. i cant watch hoffman at 6 anymore.
and drop reed. copley to centre.

Why people want to persevere with Hoffman anywhere near a spine position baffles me... seriously baffles me!

Barba has always been dodgy under the high ball, that is clearly his flaw. But he makes up for it with everything else he has in his vast arsenal, except he isn't a rain maker, and can't do everything, especially not when he has a clueless guy in front of him getting in the way...
Putting Hoffman at FB will certainly strengthen our bomb catching ability, but it won't make things any better in attack, as it will only put a clueless guy getting in the way behind Barba.

FTR, I thought Barba was very unlucky with the bomb that led to Sezer's try (which was illegal imo), as it landed pretty much on top of the goal post, and Barba didn't get time to protect the ball from a strip after the bounce. On Kelly's torpedo bomb, credit where it's due, that was an awesome floating everywhere kick (one of the few things we could see well from where we were seated), which was very tough to catch, even to the best of them.

I like this team/squad a lot, should be our team going forward from next week. Dodds is out for the season unfortunately and I'm not a fan of Nikorima, but other than that, I really like it.

I'd say it's because we all know Griffin will name the same squad, so being realistic, the only thing we can do is shuffle them around.

Better yet who thinks any changes will be made?

Team stays the same $1.01
Required changes are made $1001.00

Here's my team for the Knights game:

1. Maranta
2. Hoffman
3. Copley
4. Mills
5. Vidot
6. Nikorima
7. Hunt
8. Hannant
9. Macca
10. Kennedy
11. Thaiday
12. Gillett
13. Parker

14. Wallace
15. Hala
16. Glenn
17. Oates

Mills and Vidot can swap positions, I don't mind. I just want to see a team named on form, not persevering with under performers and players getting selected on namesake.

Poor old McGuire dropped?

I want more out of Kennedy - I doubt he'll be dropped though.

McGuire has been one of our best forwards and you want him dropped.

Hodges has played only 2 games back from serious injury (he was always going to be rusty given he hasn't played since August) dropping him is ridiculous. He is our most dangerous player. Mills would offer the side much less than Hodges, that much is certain.

Nikorima isnt good enough to play 5/8 in the 20s that is why they moved him to fullback. He wouldn't be much better than Hoffman in the NRL side. He will be as much of a ball hog as Hoffman, the only difference would be he would add littlr kicks for himself. If you want Hoffman out of 5/8, fair enough, but pick someone with a passing game, like Duncan P or Strasser.

Kennedy has been poor off the bench, so you want to reward that with a starting position... Riiiiiight

More than anything else... I really wanna see somebody smash Beau Scott !!

I really hate that grub.

Yes. If he's poor off the bench - he might go better in the starting side. Considering the wraps on this guy, surely he can handle it. He was pushing for Origin selection a few years ago.

You would get more from Kennedy if he starts.

Considering the speed of the game, McGuire would be much more useful off the bench and put up against tired forwards.

If you actually read a post I have already made in this thread, I propose moving Hoffman to the wing Barba to 6 and Maranta or Kahu (when he returns and depending on Marantas form) to fullback.

Barba has always been sketchy under the high ball......but I had thought it was behind him. Doesn't look so now. Watching him last night, "letting" high balls bounce

"yours!!"

...reminded me of some his attempts in 2012, even when everyone else was piling on the praise for his attack. They were constantly overlooking this serious flaw in his game

Scary ****, having a fullback like that.

Maybe it is time that him and Hoffman swapped. I wasn't for it in the beginning, but

both are playing like arse where they are now.

Amen so true

Barba's 2012 season wasn't flawless and perfect contrary to what some were saying as there were still flaws that were overlooked by most.

All of his flaws were exposed in that Grand Final.

Even if the only change made is to swap Barba and Hoffman, I'd be happy.
