Round 8 - Broncos vs. Souths - Pre-Match Discussion Thread

I think Souths are beatable. We will need to attack well but I think we have the team and style of play that could definitely see us beating the Rabbits and am not at all pessimistic about our chances this week.

That said though, we could win by 20 and I'd still give us no hope of contending the title.

Halves weren't really the issue tonight. Penalties and errors meant no momentum. All round lack of urgency. If we are on our game, the team has shown we have tries in us against good teams

Agreed, I think we got dragged down to the Tigers level after we cruised the first 20mins, and were lucky to get ourselves back in the game. Bad prep for next week IMO, but maybe it'll go the other way and act as a wake-up call and ensure a better attitude next week? I think we have the talent to beat Souths, but they were damn impressive lastnight. To win though, we need to keep at the 'new' style of play even if it's not working, do NOT go back to lazy, one-out play and no passing. Patience, boys! And we can come up trumps.

i'll say it again as per post game thread but just cant believe the doom and gloom on BHQ. scrappy win v tigers but we came out of it unscathed with 2 pts and all is good.

need to unleash the hala against their big fellas. and keep luke + sutton in check. reynolds is a myth aside from a good short kicking game. inglis cant win it from the back if we stop those infron of him. hodges will have a field day with goodwin

As I said, I can hear Inglis licking his lips at the prospect of running at our back 3. I wouldn't be in Hoffa's boots for any money.


Reynolds and Sutton will be relentless with their kicking game to all 3.

Souths were as someone else posted, terrific in containing Manly whose attack I reckon is in the top 3.

At the same time, if we don't fall asleep and keep the discipline I feel we can roll them.

But what a big "if".
