Really all we're asking of him is to mark up on his man and back himself 100%
I think he learned a lot against the Storm the way they targeted him.
And let me just say...well that sucks.
Hope Kahu can hold his own defensively. He's got the toughest assignment in the game in GI so he's in for a tough evening but as long as he doesn't present a huge passage like he did with Sau, he won't be too big a liability. We'll miss Hodges no doubt, he's a leader out there and one of the few who can come up with a big play. I just hope Kahu goes out there and focuses on doing his job. I actually think it won't be that bad, but then again I'm an eternal optimist.
Wallace in for an injured J. McGuire could be an upgrade on last week. Wallace is just the big boppa (along with Hala) that I wanted on the bench and I hope he stakes his claim.
Can't fault anybody tipping Souths now.
Written: Don't judge a guy on just his second game when he's coming back from two ACL tears.
I'm going to judge him. I don't care what injuries he's had, if he's not up to first grade, he's not up to it. I hope he surprises me, if he has a blinder, I'll come in here and say I'm impressed.
I don't think I'll have to though. I think he's going to be another young player who BroncosHQ members talk up to be the greatest thing on the planet, only to fall on his hass, play a handful of games, and never be heard of again.
I think Nashy is just extremely skeptical given the amount of young talent which has been talked up by the Qcup and U20 enthusiasts on here, only for him to be disappointed when they are average at best in first grade.
Wow, what's with all the negativity. Why are you so made at kahu just because some members have a man crush on him. He hasn't asked to be talked up, he isn't going around saying 'look at me'. After two knee recos before his twenty I'm sure the kid just wants to play the best footy he can for the team he loves. Cut him some
slack.
Exactly this. I've been on BroncosHQ/BroncoNet since around 2002. The amount of players who are the next greatest player to play the game, who have ultimately been absolute nuffies who we never hear of again is amazing.
I actually don't recall any players who have come through the ranks and made it big in the NRL were even considered by some of the so called junior experts on here in all those years.
So what I've learnt. If BHQ says he's **** hot. He's probably going to be just ****.
I think Nashy is just extremely skeptical given the amount of young talent which has been talked up by the Qcup and U20 enthusiasts on here, only for him to be disappointed when they are average at best in first grade.
Oh, my bad.
I'm so sorry Kahu that you've had two possible career ending injuries. Because I feel bad, I think you should play in the NRL team I support. Because a few people on the Internet say that before those injuries, you could have been good, and because they kind of feel sorry for you, and want to see you play well.
I want to see him play well. And if he does, like I said, I'll come in here and state that I thought he played well.
But what is funny, is that everyone's been talking him up. Then when he finally gets selected, the injuries (excuses) come up to fall back on. Maybe I'm reading it wrong. But maybe I'm not.
Correct. The likes of Hoffman, Gillett, Eastwood, Hannant, Kemp (08), Stagg, Thaiday - all talked up by this forum and have gone on to do sweet **** all for the Broncos. Not to mention that Greg Inglis bloke - I remember he was talked up here when he was playing for Norths and he is another that has gone on to do absolutely nothing. This place has no clue.
Mate, all I'm saying is why assume he's gonna be s*** before even really seeing him play. But in that same mindset I don't understand why people talk these kids up either. Just let them play and if they are good, great. If they are not well bag me
Out I guess
