POST GAME [Round 9, 2022] Rabbitohs vs Broncos

The thing I liked about Reynolds in this game is that he had a clear gameplan on how he was going to attack Souths and he stuck to it.

One of the reasons why Melbourne are so good is because when they play a team, they find a weakness in that side from their research of the side and they create a gameplan to target that weakness relentlessly. They keep hammering it over and over and they don't let up. Eventually they break down that side and when they do, that's when they hit the afterburners and just blow them away.

That's what Reynolds did in this game. He knew how to attack Souths, he knew their weakness was that right edge and he kept targeting that side. He didn't overplay his hand, he kept his game simple playing high percentage plays and just kept at it and it paid off.

Once we started scoring points, Walker started feeling pressure and it threw him off his game because he kept trying to come up with the big play too soon, which is why he didn't pass on that overlap.

A lot of people have carried on that Walker was off and if he wasn't he would have carved us up, but it was Reynolds that threw him off his game.

We finally have a halfback that looks for a weakness in a side and when he finds it, he targets that weakness. Whereas with previous halfbacks, they didn't have a clear gameplan on how they were going to attack their opposition. They just played like headless chooks really.
