POST GAME [Round 9, 2026] - Broncos vs Roosters

At this point, we are the idiots for not staying down. If Pat stays down there and if Karapani stays down we have 2 sin bins, Radley ****face is suspended like he should be and we likely win the game. What do we get for doing the right thing and not staying down? A lost game, one of our players sin binned later and Karapani with an injury. **** all the way off.
Karapani did stay down, and had to be taken from the field. Still no sin bin. This one was a bit tit-for-tat with Talty's tackle on Tedesco, so I'll reluctantly cop it.

The one that really pissed me off was when the Roosters gave away 3 foul play penalties in about 30 seconds and received an official warning from the dickhead with the whistle. They then proceeded to dump one of our players over the horizontal after he passed the ball (therefore both late and dangerous), and STILL couldn't cop a sin bin.

Is there front on footage of the Talty one?

Teddy wasnt lying down to get the penalty, because ****wit already blew it based on his hysterics during the tackle... Teddy lied down to try and get Talty binned, but I swear there was a front on during the broadcast that showed clear air between Teddy's crossed ankles and Talty's lower half on the ground.

There was, a very clear separation.

About ****ing time something was said in the media! "Accidental" is not a defence and has never been a defence for anything in our game! That replay is brutal, you could see it at live speed but then the replay, my goodness. How that's not 'careless' at a minimum is beyond belief.

The fact it was not penalised, and then not charged, is 100% down to the fact Patty got up and played on. It still should have been pulled up regardless. But this is why the likes of Melbourne and some other teams are such ****ing whingers - not only do some innocuous things get paid, but at other times it's the only way for actual infringements to be pulled up. If Pat stays down, Radley gets binned and we likely go on to win the game. This is why the diving and appealing has reached plague proportions.
Our blokes are simply too nice & polite even when the opponents do grubby acts & hurt us intentionally. We just want want to quick lay the ball and be in good books. We could never learn the cunning side or stay down and milk penalties/sinbins. If it were the Rotters/Riff/Storm cheats, every single of them stay down until it is broadcasted on big screen. We want to play it nice and in return we get dudded. Faaark.

Perhaps, it’s time our blokes learn to milk and play smartly.

I could have sworn Reece needed his leg amputated at the end of that Raiders game??

He really is an all-round player. Maybe he should give his team mate some acting lessons?
Reece is about the only one in the team that does it, because he watches football and realises that every team does it... but are you going to sit there and tell me that the bunker still rules that a penalty if Walsh walks away??

Hey so yeah, we sometimes stay down when we are actually hit illegally. Sometimes. That’s not really diving. Jahrome Hughes and Tedesco and the rest of the comp dive when they’re touched above the armpits or below the belly button. There’s a big difference

In the game against us, it was disgraceful how Hughes literally ran into a player's back and then fell over with his hands in the air.

It also lost them a grand final so **** him.

When I say we should stay down I mean we should only stay down when we are tackled illegally. Unlike these losers that stay down when they’re hit too hard.

Mariner's injury is reportedly so rare that it only happens in 0.1% of cases.

He will be in hospital in Sydney for at least another 2 weeks.

Our Doctor, Matt Hislop said:

“He will play again,”

“It’s just a matter of when we can do it safely and minimise complications for Deine down the line.

“It’s too early to put a date on that.

“I won’t make a comment on whether he comes back this year because you are damned if you do and damned if you don’t. If it goes exceptionally well we will be accused of rushing him back, but right now Deine is a week-to-week proposition.

“Early indications are promising, but the problem when you have that compartment syndrome and you open it up ... I don’t know if you have seen pictures of that type of surgery, but it’s pretty brutal.

“When we said it was limb threatening, we weren’t joking.”

Dr Hislop explained the procedure required to save Mariner’s career and said he had never seen such an injury in the NRL.

“It’s a cut from your hip down to your knee,” he said.

“The problem is the muscle bulges out because it is under pressure.

“The issue is you have to close it up again.

“You can’t close it up too soon, otherwise it will just happen again. For the next week or week-and-a-half, they will monitor Deine, he is getting awesome treatment in Sydney and they are giving us regular updates.

“What they will try and do is close it up piece by piece, every few days.

“It’s like cutting a sausage and all the innards fall out, then trying to tuck all that back in and stitch the sausage skin back together again.

“It’s pretty uncommon.

“I did a search of case studies and found a couple in rugby around the world where they had similar injuries, but the difference with Deine is he has really big quads to start with.

“I have never seen a thigh compartment syndrome in a rugby league player.

“I see a lot of it in my clinical practice, but this variety of it is an emergency and if you don’t get surgery within five or six hours of its onset, then the muscle can die and that’s irreversible.

“He went to bed OK and within an hour-and-a-half he was in agony.

“It was less than a 0.1 per cent chance of happening, so it’s extremely rare.

“He is getting more surgery over the course of the week.

“The plan is to send him home once it has all closed up, so it’s going to be one to two weeks before he comes back to Brisbane.”

On Tuesday morning, his fiancee, Grace, thanked the rugby league community for its overwhelming support after enduring a “really tough few days” by Mariner’s bedside.

“Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your beautiful messages,” Grace posted on social media.

“They’ve meant more than I can put into words.

“He’s taken the time to read every single one and truly felt all the love and support around him.

“It’s been a really tough few days but he’s on the road to recovery.”

Mariner’s manager Dixon McIver said:

“I’ve spoken to Deine, he is in high spirits. He is hoping to come back but you never know with these things. We’re all just supporting him and very thankful to the Broncos and the doctors.”
Horrific to read, poor bloke. At least the game is so fast this year tho #points

On average, each team has 6 players out, most first teams and many stars of the game but no doubt according to Hitler and his yes men:

he couldn't even convince the incompetent, corrupt refs to award that one, lol

I also think we aren't in the ref's ear enough during the games, at least compared to other teams, and especially when reyno goes off. I hardly ever see carrigan questioning a shitty decision and looking for clarification.
As well as giving our boys an extra bit of time to recover, it might give the ref pause for thought next time he goes to blow a 50/50 or wave his fkn arm in the air against us for some mysterious reason.
