That last one was maybe a good idea though. He scored poorly.

We should win this if we're serious. They don't have DCE, AFB is carrying an injury, and I think Taupau is as well. If we lose this we could very well win the spoon.

If we do keep Roberts, I wonder how he would go at left centre with Jack Bird at right centre. Bird seems uncomfortable out on the left, but I recall Roberts playing on the left side of the field earlier in his career either as a winger or a centre.

I haven’t seen as much of him as you have wolfie but from what I have seen he seems to me like he would be a good lock. Looks like he would clean up a lot of the stuff in the middle of the field and make a heap of tackles. Doesn’t seem like he would run for 100m+ every game but with Carrigan starting it allows TPJ to drop to the bench.

TPJ needs a huge fucking rocket and starting from the bench allows him to come on and make an immediate impact. What I don’t want to see is Pangi coming straight back into the starting side after one good bloody game though. If he puts 5 or 6 good games back to back then perhaps but he needs to know 1 good game out of 8 isn’t far from acceptable.

He was making well over 100 meters a game last year for an average Wynnum side. He is just a pure footballer. Nothing fancy, just does his job.

Well if Dearden getting pulled last minute before his game lead to Nikorima getting released, it's reasonable to think that the same might occur with Roberts, although even in that case I'd say Staggs would get first crack at cementing the right centre spot.

Another scenario is Shibasaki organising a contract with Souths himself, he was actually rumoured to be heading to Souths before the Roberts rumour picked up steam.

My guess is Staggs to centre and Shibasaki on the bench.

Even if Roberts is staying I hope he spends some time in the ISC. His performances just aren't good enough at the moment. It's like he is disinterested.

The Broncos planned to use selection room shock therapy to see precisely what lies in James Roberts’ heart.
As Roberts battled injury in recent weeks and his future with the club hangs in the balance, Broncos officials discussed sending him back to the Intrust Cup to one of their four feeder clubs.
It would have been a stinging demotion but the thinking was it would have either roused his competitive instincts or he would have waved the white flag and wanted out.
The idea failed to leave the tarmac, a shame because at least it would have brought the issue of Roberts’ future to a head. Speculation of a move to South Sydney continues to swirl.
