Sack Seibold Now!

Giving coaches a mandate for rebuilds essentially absolves them of responsibility for results. It's a terrible mindset and a terrible benchmark to hold someone to. It speaks volumes of the ambitions of the club or at least the mindset of those at the head of it.

**** me we might have disagreements on the quality of our roster but we aren't the Knights of a few years ago that were literally park footballers and dudes 35 and over.

Calling it a long game is BS. You don't need a particular roster to just not be shit.

Competing, playing hard, making the little efforts, covering in defence, dominating the ruck, none of these things need a certain roster, they need coaching.

I'd be happy to swallow the long game BS excuse if we didn't look like the worst team in the comp this year. If there isn't a huge turn around in form against the Titans, Seibold doesn't have much longer as coach. I'll believe he has the players' support if they actually play like they care about him keeping his job.

The only problem with the bold part is that the players incomes are not dependent on his success. If Seibold got sacked tomorrow, all the dead weight around the club would still get paid at the end of the month and continue doing so, save for termination of their contract by way of breach.

A lot of young kids come in playing because they love the game and have always wanted to play NRL / for the Broncos. But once the novelty has worn off, most treat it as nothing more than a business these days.

I should also say that I don’t begrudge them getting paid, but I think the days of players making sacrifices for the greater good of their team, teammates, coaches etc. are rapidly disappearing.

It is not our roster, other teams have injuries and dud players. Our team just has no clue what they are meant to be doing on the field and that is on seibold. And the longer he has been here, the worse it has gotten.

How long is the club going to give him? He has had a first grade squad for 18 months, but we have seen now progress with the team or player performances. Players dont want to join or stay at losing clubs. We are going to lose players and become bottom dwellers because the board's egos cant take a hit in admitting they stuffed up and the club is too cheap to pay up for their error.

People who want Seibold gone immediately, who do you plan on replacing him with?

Walters with Kearney assistant. Seibold still has a few weeks to keep his job though, every game counts. If we keep playing like we're a sure thing for the spoon, he won't be having a Dry July.

Geoff Toovey isn't a bad idea either, I think he was unfairly sacked.

I'd be going Toovey or Griffin. Both those blokes would at the very least give the side a structure and a direction.

What does winning the next few games do? Say we beat the titans, warriors and bulldogs or even go 3/4 all that is going to happen are players ie Milford and Boyd will keep their spots and buy themselves more time. The blowtorch will ease off Seibold and we will have a false sense that we are back and winning again.
Then we will versus the storm and get pumped by a new 60-0 record loss.
Internally changes need to happen and as bad as we need a win, I feel it’s just going to continue masking the real issues within this club.
I fee as if the titans do beat us that changes will actually come, but then again I thought changes would have come a few weeks back.

If we're the richest club in the NRL, prove it. Poach Bellyache, give him a 3m sign-on bonus to pay out his storm breach and then some.

Why should the richest club settle for second rate or unproven coaches? We should demand the best. Failing him, try Robbo and get him to bring some of the sombrero with him.

I dont think these are realistic. Those clubs aren’t exactly strapped for cash, and the coaches are both so deeply ingrained into the club itself. Bellamy has cash chucked at him and something spooks him enough to sack the whole idea.

We could never outbid the Roosters.

Exactly. Even looking at our wins in the past season, we have not done so convincingly, and more often that not, the wins/tries have come from individual players i.e. hass, fifita, staggs breaking tackles, TPJ offload etc.

If Fifita doesn’t play round 1 we probably lose that game too

I actually disagree.

Siebold didn't sign Milford or Boyd.
Bennett let Mcquire go before Seibold was there.

We have been insanely unlucky with injury.

In 2018 we lost convincingly to the dragons in week one of the finals, yet everyone smashed Seibold for getting smoked by the Eels in 2019.

I think people need to lay off him till it is truly his roster, and we don't have millions of dollars in the sidelines.

We could easily do that, but NRL put a salary cap on staff in the last few years too.
