I will say it here I think that Sam Thiaday is overweight. He is looking very podgy around his chest-tummy area and doesn't look motivated to play or to lead the team. I might be wrong but he just doesn't look match fit to me.

Thaiday is an easy target. He got through plenty of work last night. He isn't naturally fit like others are. He should always have been used in an impact role.

That isn't to say the criticism isn't warranted. For mine, he doesn't lead from the front enough or seize the moment like say Wally but comments how he doesn't do anything or this crap about him blaming Dodds for the loss does nothing for the discussion.

I don't think there were any clear cut choices to take over from Lockyer. Parker was terrible in his stint in 2010, Glenn had barely earned himself a starting spot and Macca is apparently barely Qld Cup standard.

This could be a stretch but I think the problem is that Karmichael Hunt was being groomed as Lockyer's heir and he dogged us by heading elsewhere.

Now the media will be reporting that there's tension at the club. (which I think there is, but don't give the media ammo to report on it)

When Locky retired, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to make Parker the captain for a couple of seasons and groom Glenn for future captain. At that point say after about 3 or so seasons, Glenn would have been an established first grader and integral part of the Broncos side, and would have been captain at about the same age as Thaiday is now. However it is possible that Thaiday may now be captain for say 6, 7 or even 8 seasons and when the next captain is to be made, Glenn may be in the same position as Parker was in; 30-ish and getting towards the back end of his career.

I don't know if I can support this team with Thaiday as captain for much longer. Naming a player for a loss demonstrates that he is willing to pass the blame onto others before himself. I've never heard any captain naming players for a loss, Parker should be made captain ASAP. And some QCup for Thaiday for being a complete jerk.

He's the one that looks like he couldn't give a stuff on the field, he's the one with the hands on the hips puffing and panting whilst other team mates are doing his workload.

No doubt Thaidays comments are being taken out of context and it seem Mitchell Dodds Mum is a new user on the forums. I'd say Parker was overlooked for a few reasons. Apparently he isn't well respected by the playing group. Also got into a fight with Yow Yeh. Glenn would have been the ideal pick IMO but maybe the club thought he was too young?? Thaiday seems to be very well liked by the players as well. I don't know what the criteria was for being picked as Captain. All I know is Thaiday was coming of a career best season when he was given the captaincy.

We should have known that Thaiday would be a useless captain, when he was stand in captain in 2011 & we got a penalty & the ref asked him what he was going to do & Thaiday replied, I don't know I'll ask Macca, he'll know what to do.
