Ever imagined what it would be like running at the line and having to chose between colliding with Sam Burgess and Dave Taylor or David Shillington and Tom Learoyd-Lahrs?

It's a prospect faced by players every week in the NRL as they line up against some of the biggest, meanest packs of forwards the code has to offer.
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves said last week that his Roosters are on their way to becoming the dominant forward pack in the NRL - which got us thinking ... which forward pack would you least like to run out against?
Which side sends a shiver down your spine with their heavy hitting and barnstorming runs?
We've run the rule over the big boys laying the platform for your club.

I am not sure how the Souths Forward pack gets a rating of 9?? Also I feel they are being very generous with the Manly rating because our forward pack is clearly better...

Best? or scariest? both very different things imo

Parramatta scare me. I honestly can't believe how bad they are.

The Dragons scare me. I can't believe how ugly Weyman is. He must give small children nightmares. Horrifically ugly.

The Warriors would have to rate one of the scariest for me

Manly because T-REX plays for them. I would shit myself if he ran at me.

Thats what i was getting at. Scary is a different thing to good! None of the broncos really instill fear in the way that a player would think "if i run at that guy he will axe me" or "hes running at me, im going to get the **** out of the way". Players like dave taylor, t-rex, and pritchard are scary imo, coz they could hurt u with or without the ball. Te'o would be the only one in the broncos that would rate a mention if we were purely talking "scary".

Agree with that. Looks like bad wording from Fox Sports journo to me.

Something about the Warriors pack that would scare me the most. Matulino has been smashing players left, right and centre this season too.

Agree with Queenslander's definition of scary, but the article is clearly about the best pack.

I would call the Broncos the most frustrating pack - because there's generally no way through them. Manly showed the best way to get past the Broncos is go around, on the fringes.

Scariest? Without doubt the Warriors. They have some monsters and I would literally shit myself if they were running at me one-on-one. And as Alec said, if I saw Matulino in the corner of my eye as I was running the ball I would hope my affairs were in order, because I'd be likely to be snapped in half.

There is one player that I'd be scared to tackle above all others and that is Petero Civoniceva. I would NOT want him running at me ever. That would be Terrifying with a capital T.

I wouldn't want to be tackled by Tariq Sims. I think because he doesn't do the shoulder charge perse but hits you right in the rib cage at full pace. Sorta like TC used to do.

I still think TC is the scariest tackler of all time and Gordie is the scariest ball runner.

I think Corey Parker is the softest tackler/runner.....

Yeah, agree with Mrslong about TC tackling and Petero / Gordie hitups... Scary!

As a matter of fact, I actually believe that the toughest concrete bunkers in the world, have bits of Civoneciva to make them harder.

Actually, I think it was a few years back but there was a vote by the players and most of them said that they fear Civoniceva running at them the most as it's like hitting a brick wall.

In the RLW players poll he used to win the "hardest to tackle" and "hardest hitter" categories pretty regularly. Nathan Cayless recently described him as being like made of steel. His bones just hurt whenever you hit him or he hit you.
Definitely scary. But not intimidating.

Any pack that can afford to have Te'o, Gillett and McGuire on its bench is pretty hard to beat, on paper we have the best one. Scariest I would say the Warriors guys like Rapira, Matulino, Mateo, Akuma Tiai, Brown, Lousi and Lillyman are all damaging players in either defense or attack and in some cases both.
