Seibold signs with Broncos for 4 years

I understand that but it's a big punt on someone who has had 1 season as a nrl head coach. Seibold signed elsewhere as soon as he could, surely he would have come after 2020 .
Doesn't matter what is said now but I would be happy to have Wayne see out 2019.

Seibold also appears to want to honor his contracts (what the clubs want is a different story) ... and Souths were never going to just sign him for a 1 year extension ... meaning there would likely be several years with a coach were didn't really want

So again, his team was gassed and couldnt execute the plays-so why do them? Why use tactics that made us more fatigued then the opposition? And again, if you want to use the “he has won 7 premierships” as evidence of his coaching ability (which it is) then losing a grand final does not suddenly have nothing to do with

Maybe you should watch more footy , every team slows the play down by kicking out. It's just our players couldn't execute it .
Seriously you think it was his tactics that tried them and not the oppositions ?

I get your frustrated that the hipocricy in your comment has been pointed out but “you should watch more footy” isnt a strong point... if it wasnt the tactics what was it? Were north queensland fitter? Were they just better on the day? Both of whih he also plays a major role in. Whatever the answer, why are you using his 7 premierships as evidence of his ability as a coach but completly absolving him of any responibility for losing the grand final?

Again, I think he did well to get us there and he is the best coach in history-but his tactics were not right for the game. He could have won 50 premierships in a row before 2015 and his tactics still could have been wrong. My evidence?..... we lost!

If the players didnt pull it off then why didnt he pick tactics his players were capable of carrying out? We shut up shop too early, a better team who handled pressure would have still won-we didnt. Thats the players fault but its also the coach’s decision to expect them to carry it out. You cant just claim his wins without him taking ownership of his role in the losses...

You just can't say it was his tactics when it went to golden point, it's that simple.

I blame Ben Hunt for losing the grand final. But not his dropped ball. I blame his spear tackle that gave them the field position in the first place. That is when the momentum swung their way.

We missed Lockys kicks into the corners.

Correct, that released the pressure.

There were simply 3-4 seemingly minor turning points at the end of the game that all went in the Cowboys’ favour. Some were our errors, some were 50/50 or bad ref calls. It’s unfortunate but it’s what cost us the GF, not anything lacking in Bennett’s coaching.

Bennett’s coaching almost always defers to high percentage football. It’s players who didn’t execute. Not because Bennett instilled a game plan that would fatigue them, but because the players fatigued themselves via errors.

More to the point, we shut up shop too early when we did not have a big enough lead to allow those tactics to work, particularly against a side with strike like the Cowboys.

That plus carelessly allowing the ball to be stripped to give them possession.

Importantly, this was while Milford was trying to spark something and put on more points, which is what a lot of people think we needed to do more of. But ironically, the enterprise lead to an error that potentially turned the game. Had he played it a bit safer, got to the kick and pinned them, who knows.

Not blaming him, just showing that it’s all well and good to say that boring football cost us the game, but you could equally argue that making errors while trying too hard can result in the exact same outcome we witnessed.

- Macca dummying (as he always does) and not passing to Parker who was in under the posts
- Hunt Spear-tackling
- Hunt getting the ball stripped or dropped (whatever it was)
- Hunt dropping the ball
- The team not tackling with five seconds to go
- Putting the cue in the rack with a tiny lead with ages to go

These were all the factors that lead to losing 2015, the last point would very much seem to be a coaching error, the others all on the players. Regardless, that last point cannot be absolved of Bennett.

Regardless of the ifs and buts, the reality is that Bennett and the rest of the 2015 scarees all needed to be moved on and that seems to be happening now.

The only problems that Brisbane will have left would have been happening whether Bennett stayed or not and at least one or two of them are attributable to him:

- Boyd's ridiculous contract
- Bird's ridiculous contract
- No competition for Macca
- Macca for 80 minutes
- Too inexperienced to be considered favourites

I was actually referring to Hunt, not Milford, but thanks for the input.

Cut it out, all of you. That means @FaithinHook and @john1420 as well.

Wanna have an e-peen spelling bee, do it somewhere else, thank you.
Had nothing to do with spelling, rather it was a commentary on the passive aggressive posts.

When have the clubs expressed a desire for an immediate swap? It seems quite a few on here seem to know with great certainty 'facts' not in evidence.

I just love the fact that 2015 is now this awesome year.

Viewed through the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia.

Did you any of you blokes actually read the crap you posted that year?

I did. It's downright embarassing in retrospect.

Edit: Sorry, clarification. I meant me and my comments, not necessarily you and yours...but still...I think it's a valid point.

Rugby League fans don't do self-reflection very well.

You went back and read posts from 2015? That’s sad
