I'd almost fallen for Gal becoming less of a grub with age. I even gave him the benefit of the doubt during the latest allegations. When names were being thrown around for Aus captain, I felt Gal was more deserving because (as far as we new at the time) he wasn't involved in a massive cheating scandal. I've never doubted Cam Smith's skill but my pro-NSW bias did result in me not being his biggest fan.

I know that public image is so controlled these days that Cam could be a massive wanker and just hidden it well, but the mere fact that gallen is dumb enough to act like this publicly highlights the gap of intellect between the two. How he and Farah are too stupid handle a fucking twitter account is beyond me.

I'm unsure what was so wrong with all of that. Aside from allowing his old man to use the account it seems as though the old man was just defending his son who, as far as the law says ,has done nothing wrong. Brian Smith has had his time and is largely irrelevant these days so if he brought up peptides etc then he should be rebuked. It is only an allegation and at this point in time is at least derogatory and possibly slanderous . Gallen played very well last night as did the rest of the team and that should be the focus. Gallen appeared to just wish to thank the supportive fans,putting up with neverwasbeens must be frustrating.

If I followed the twitter thread properly, some other punter weighed in with reference to Peptides, which Smith then commented on. He didn't bring it up. Smith is no different to the rest of us - he has an opinion, and his main opinion was that Gallen got owned by a kid and was too gutless to try and go there again. And he's right.

Understand Gallen's dad wanting to defend his son, but seriously, have a thought about how it makes your son look if daddy fights his battles for him?

After reading CF's post, I went back and re-read the tweets. Turns out I had built them up in my head since I read them this morning. They really weren't that bad, and I think he handled himself pretty well. Probably should've kept his old man away from his twitter though.

So I retract my last post. Though my opinion of Gallen is being tested lately.

The NRL is an incompetent joke, the AFL have not handled this all that well but still coming out looking a million times better than the NRL. If the Sharks do anything of note in the finals and then get punished afterwards shows just how pathetic the NRL really are.

The NRL can't act until it's done. How can they impose any penalty on the Sharks if they're found to not be guilty? Innocent until proven guilty as far as I'm concerned.

Well the AFL have finalised there report and have made judgments. Why can the NRL not have done everything in its power to force this to happen quicker and force Cronulla to co-operate fully and swiftly? This is embarrassing for the NRL in this country.
