Slater + Inglis Want To Join Broncos

OXY, read what Rock said. CLUB LEVEL.

Only 1 of those achievements there is a club level achievement, and the other one is a Melbourne Storm award so what's the point in putting that one there??

Did he actually go all the way and get the Centre of the year? because bragging about being a Nominee is abit uh....stupid
I don't understand how anyone can suggest that Inglis has been better than Hodges at Club level. Seriously, Inglis' form in clubs games has been nowhere near where it should be.

But look at the awards he's won

# 2009 Wally Lewis Medalist
# 2009 Dally M Centre of the Year Nominee
# 2009 Dally M Representative Player of the Year
# 2009 Melbourne Storm Back of the Year Award
# 2009 Rugby League Four Nations Player of the Tournament
# 2009 Golden Boot Award Rugby League World International Player of the Year[/quote:1uun4obz]
Inglis is better simple as that. Hodges is injured too much to ever be in the same class as Inglis. If Hodges was rarely injured he would be a much better player.
At least he's usually here at the buisness end of the season.
I don't remember pre-2006 but I think he's been here at the end of seasons + finals in 06, 07, 08 and last year as well.

So he's basically doing a parramatta. Couldn't be bothered turning up for the first half of the season, and then turns it on come business end of the season. Maybe Hodges isn't as stupid as he sometimes seems to be[/quote:28zfyy9d]

If Inglis played at club level consistently like he does at rep level no one here would argue Hodges is a better club player.

Actually they are opposites, Hodges is usually average in rep games but awesome at club level, Inglis is usually average in club games but awesome at rep level.

I can't believe I am about to say this - but I agree with AP in the Inglis vs Hodges debate. It isn't really that fair to compare them in club games and Hodges plays so comparatively few of them. If Hodges played more club games then he would play more average ones than he does - or you would all at least remember more of his average games. It is easier to put in a higher % of good performances when you are actually playing a lot less games.

Not really, if he's able to produce quality games even after being in and out with injuries all the time, maybe he would be consistently good if he was injury free.

The other thing to consider, is that you are comparing a younger player with an older player. Hodges has always played a very physical game which may make him more susceptible to injuries. Who is to say that in 3-4 years when Inglis is about the same age as Hodges that he may become equally as injury prone. You are all trying to compare players at different stages in their careers.

How many players do you see come out of injury and play at their best? If anything a player in and out of injury should have more bad games.

Last year:
inglis - 21 games, 13 trys
hodges - 16 games, 3 trys

inglis is also only 3 trys behind in overall career trys, but has played about 50 games less.

go watch any greg inglis highlights video on YouTube and 3/4 of his highlights are from club games. Good luck even FINDING a Justin hodges highlights clip lol. Might find one of his 2 trys for NSW in the Origin, or him mouthing off, but that's about it.

Ah yes, ofcourse, i just love judging players by the amount of tries they score or the highlights they have on youtube. Can you link me some Lockyer highlights from youtube? If there aren't any, he's shit.

Well let's be honest, a centres job is to score trys. Inglis does that better than any, even at club level. It doesn't matter if hodges looks like he's more involved - I'll take the guy who scores 2 trys off 5 runs over the guy who scores none and does 10 runs. Effort means very little when there's no result.

So you're saying more tries = better player? Is that it?
