Hodges >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Inglis
+1

Inglis > Hodges.. Inglis actually plays... Hodges sits on the sidelines.
At least hodges is everywhere when he plays unlike inglis who goes missing in 80% of games he plays in.
On the field Hodges is easily one of the most passionate and committed players no matter which way the game is going

80% of games he's played in...... this year. He was named Dally M Centre of the Year last year.. Sure he's in not so good form atm.. but don't be so short-sighted.

Oh btw last year.. he also won
# 2009 Wally Lewis Medalist
# 2009 Dally M Centre of the Year Nominee
# 2009 Dally M Representative Player of the Year
# 2009 Melbourne Storm Back of the Year Award
# 2009 Rugby League Four Nations Player of the Tournament
# 2009 Golden Boot Award Rugby League World International Player of the Year

Hodges ahead of Inglis.. rofl. When he hits form, while Hodges is still on the sidelines.... missing games again.. I will laugh.

So to refute the claim that Hodges is better than Inglis at club level, you provide a list of awards, which out of the 6, 4 are actually at rep level [icon_shru

And another is a Melbourne Storm club award...and the other is a "nominee"

what did hodges win last year?
how many tries did hodges score last year?

Oh for god sake, did you even read the posts, specifically the first sentence of the first quote?
I won't even bother.

On his day and at rep level Inglis is a better player.
Overall game-to-game Hodges is way better.

Australia game is a good example, made some awesome runs than disappeared for the rest of the game. One thing about Inglis though he always shines in the big games.

Inglis is better simple as that. Hodges is injured too much to ever be in the same class as Inglis. If Hodges was rarely injured he would be a much better player.

At least he's usually here at the buisness end of the season.
I don't remember pre-2006 but I think he's been here at the end of seasons + finals in 06, 07, 08 and last year as well.

i disagree. i think inglis is a far better player in all areas of his game. hes not a grub like hodges, he doesnt mouth off and give stupid penalties like hodges, he actually plays more than a handful of games every year cause hes not injury prone like hodges, and hes a FAR better attacking player than Hodges will ever be.

I respectfully disagree.
I think Inglis is a far better player on his day and when he's not being lazy. I don't think Hodges is a grub I think he's passionate (may be my Hodges goggles in action here). Yes he does get injured a lot but when ON the field I can barely remember in the past few years Hodges in a game going missing, he's always in the thick of it and trying everything and you can just tell he lifts the whole team when he plays he just has that effect on players.

I don't think he's a far better attacking player, Hodges is devastating in attack when in form, he keeps the defence is two minds and always has a sneaky trick up his sleeve. I think Hodges is better over all at CLUB level because he's much more consistent, Inglis has been virtually non-existent at club level this year but you can be sure he will dominate in origin again I guess he's the sort of player who needs motivation or a big game to play well.

I think Inglis will go down as one of the best centres ever to play the game, Hodges will not go down in that category but as a Broncos supporter I have nothing but admiration for Hodges, his passion and commitment to the jersey on the field and wouldn't swap him for any other centre in the game.

I know many people will disagree with me but if Hodges had as few injuries as Inglis then I think he would be better. But unfortunately that isn't the case and Hodges is incredibly injury prone... :(

I think the real question to ask you here is, if Hodges was still playing for the Roosters, would you have this much admiration for him? Or is it the maroon and gold jersey that's key to your opinion of him?

The fact that so many Broncos fans on here are giving huge wraps to Inglis even though he plays for a bitter enemy is very telling.

A great player is a great player regardless. I would probably hate him if he didn't play for the Broncos but I would still admit he's a very good player. I can't stand Slater but it's hard to deny he's such a good player.

So while my admiration is affected by the jersey I will still say what I think of a players ability. I don't admire GI (except when he plays for QLD) but he's a huge talent and I would love him at the Broncos.

To answer your question, no I wouldn't admire Hodges as much if he was at a different club but I would still think he's a great player.

I actually met Hodgo at the races once a couple of years ago and was surprised how much of a non-wanker he was in real life. Seemed like quite a genuinely nice guy, or was at least happy to have a bit of a chat to a broncos fan.

He was however with Shaun Berrigan, who was being a complete tool, so maybe this made Hodges out to seem better than he actually was.

Hdoges and Berrigan in the same place at the same time - HodgoBerro would have loved it
i saw them both at the races together once a few years back as well - everyone all dressed up to the 9s, suits/hats/ties..............hodges and berrigan in t-shirts, board shorts, and thongs.[/quote:107iojhf]

Wait. Hang on, now you're bagging them for what they are wearing?????

I don't understand how anyone can suggest that Inglis has been better than Hodges at Club level. Seriously, Inglis' form in clubs games has been nowhere near where it should be.

But look at the awards he's won

Rep games, it's a different story. He seems to step up every single time he puts on a maroon or green jumper. Why can't he do it consistently in a purple jumper? How many good games has he had this year for the Storm? I can think of about 1.

I also remember last year he would have 1 awesome game every 5 games. Doesn't cut it I'm afraid.

Problem is most of the fans on here would only seem him in rep games and not club games. Those who watch every Storm without being a Storm fan themselves can see the point you just made.

Nothing wrong with Hodgo and Berro rocking up as "norman people" right?

So he's basically doing a parramatta. Couldn't be bothered turning up for the first half of the season, and then turns it on come business end of the season. Maybe Hodges isn't as stupid as he sometimes seems to be
