The tackle Southern was penalised for, late contact on the kicker, was as close to simultaneous as possible.
Very soon a kicker will dummy when the defender pulls out early and create a try and I hope its b4 a semi so they can get this rediculous rule sorted.

As I said last week the NRL have a totally contradictory view on protecting players in the air when the attacking player can be hammered but they are hypersensitive about a defender or kicker in the air.

It's either dangerous or it isn't.

The reason Campese fell is because both feet were in the air, right as he kicked the ball. It's a bullshit rule, especially when a guy is committed to the kicker. Sort it out NRL.

Cowboys will be ruing thier slow start. If htey defended in hte first half like they did in the 2nd they would have been a lot better off.

Such a shame that Canberra's horrible run of injuries continues. Looks like they'll be without Thurling for a while and possibly Plum.

Canberra have a very underrated pack IMO - Thompson, Thurling, Harrison are all top class forwards and they have some great young talent in Picker and Learoyd. I just can't figure out what keeps them from being a force in the NRL - maybe a top class #7 or #9??? The young fullback looks the goods though if he can step up from Under 20's

The young forward likely to come in this week Shaun Fensom is a freaking gun! Was in the U20 Team of the year and does a lot of work and scores tries. Looking forward to seeing how he handles the step up.

Injuries and inconsistency are the major factors.

They now have a good halves combo.

Tongue is playing as both hooker and lock which means he gets his hands on the ball which is always a good thing.

Good centres on both sides of the park (defensively awesome)

And like you said a ridiculous forward pack - Shillington, Learoyd and Picker were making 10m min a hit up.

Give em a year or two and they will be serious contenders

He was solid without being spectacular for Souths Logan on the weekend.
