Yeah, the McInDIRE system is ridiculous.

It is, but even if we had the AFL finals system, chances are we'd still be playing the Dragons anyway, so it's all rather moot.

The biggest failing of the McIntyre system is the Storm v Manly game. Winner gets the week off, loser goes out. For a 4th v 5th game the difference is far too massive. Manly must also be livid at that shocking decision in Robina this year. That decision has effectively seen them bow out this week (not that it's a bad thing).

I think Manly would have been eliminated anyway under the AFL's system... because that would have been

(5) Manly vrs (8) Parramatta - loser eliminated

You're assuming Manly would have lost. I'm sure Manly would have much rather played the Eels than the Storm
