Brimson has played 8 games to Ponga 7, and Brimson has started every game at 1 or 6.

Right, this season. Maybe you should have been more specific.

Still you're comparing a player who has played 7 games at fullback versus a player who has played only 2 games in that position. Of course those stats are going to favour Ponga.

How could I have been more specific? Even more reason to not even consider Brimson for 1. I don't think he'd even be my second choice. Brimson is just an average NRL fullback.

The thing is these complaints have been around for a number of seasons with Kalyn so it isn't just some recent development that started at the beginning of the year. I don't think the stats reflect the performances and there's moments and intangibles Slater will have to consider when selecting Ponga.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't have Brimson ahead of him either. At least not at this stage, if Ponga takes his Newcastle form into Origin I'd look at other options.

What about Walsh vs Ponga ?

I'm not sold on Kalyn...and from what I have seen of Walsh......he's in better form(?)
he's gifted and got a good footy brain.
He's still very young.....

What is Walsh doing that Ponga isn't? Warrior have been woeful, just as bad as the Knights.

Ponga has proven himself at Origin, and had some fantastic games there for QLD. Absolutely no point in changing that

I think you could make an argument for Feldt. He has been pretty good for the Cows.

I think big Corey's carries out of our own end is what Slater will be taking note of. No other Qld winger is doing this as well as Oatesy at the minute. So I think if he keeps his safe hands going he'll be on that wing for origin.

As much as I'd like to agree with you.....Coates is tearing it up at Melb. Didn't he score 4 tries in a game a few weeks back. He can't be discounted that easily....
