Well Oates would be on the other side, Holmes is almost certainly going to be picked at centre given how he is playing, Hammer could also be a shot at the other centre position, and I think he is just better then Coates overall.

That would rule out Cobbo then.

Because if Holmes is centre, Gagai is on the wing. Gagai's expected return date is before Game 1 and there's just no way he's not getting picked.

Gagai played on the right last year, Holmes will be on the same side as Oates.

We can speculate the team all we want, but we dont know what slater wants to do with the team, it was easy to use the stick and pick motto when you win but i think the team needs a shakeup. If i was picking the 17 that could honestly beat the blues, it would be unpopular. I reckon this is Papalis, Gaigas and Kafusi's last year in Origin. They have been great servants for QLD but if they go to long they will end up like chambers, tarnishing his legacy by going too long.

I'd say either an oversight or he's a certainty. If Cobbs has a big few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised to see him make the squad either (21 or 24 man whatever it is).
