I think it's too early yet. Especially when he'll likely be contending with Turbo and To'o being that left side combo.

They where going to play Walsh last year in a spine position, I think Cobbo is doing enough.

Well Oates would be on the other side, Holmes is almost certainly going to be picked at centre given how he is playing, Hammer could also be a shot at the other centre position, and I think he is just better then Coates overall.

Coates is doing decent things for Storm and has played origin before, he deserves it more than Cobbo. Hammer has also already performed well at origin. 3 weeks ago majority of this website wanted Cobbo in ISC. Let him put a full season together before making him play origin against the best of the best.
If QLD had no other options then absolutely throw him in there, but as a Bronco fan lets not break the bloke.

Yeah but the majority of this site was wrong, what else can I say he didn't play his best back then but coincidently our team in general wasn't playing good either.
I'm not saying this as a selector though I'm saying this from playing ability, I'm almost certain Coates will be ahead of Cobbo on the picking order, even though watching Melbourne games he is getting ball a winger would dream of.

If Gagai is 100% for one centre and Hammer/Holmes is a lock for the other spot. Coates/Oates and the remaining of Hammer/Holmes should be fighting it out for the other wing spot. Cobbo will have his time, 2022 isn't it.

Like I said I'm not a selector, I wouldn't even pick Gagai but given his past for QLD you can't see him being dropped.
I think it's fair that Cobbo at least asks questions for selectors though that's all, plenty of Origin players are picked on past performances rather then current form.

It'll be Coates. Munster will be the 6 and Grant the 9...Slater will go with the connection imo. He'll be part of the extended squad for sure though. Billy will likely name him so he can't play for us when we play Melbourne during the origin period though
