Steve Kearney sacked by the Eels

Ricky Stuart won't fix their problems. Sandow is the big money number 7 and the other creative guy is Hayne and neither of them suit sides who focus on very rigid structure in attack. They need a Sheens style of coach who lets his attacking players play their strengths.

Would love to see Kevie Walter or Terry Matterson get gigs as coaches in the NRL.

They need someone who doesn't take shit from anyone, and wouldn't walk out on them at the first sign of trouble (like Stuart did at the Sharks).

Henjak.....here's his big chance...give him an underperforming side and he'll work his magic, just look at what he did for the struggling Broncos

Didn't he have the full support of the board about 5 weeks ago? You know you're F@cked when they say that. I don't think Ricky is a good fit for them, I agree with Brizz, they need to pick a coach who can best work with the team they have not one who will come in and start rebuilding again.

I wouldn't really say we were struggling... Premiership win in 06, injury crisis in 07, only lost to Melbourne in 08 after an Ashton Sims knock on.

ARRRRRRR...Alec.....that was kind of my point, tongue in cheek...you know, the old joke...how did Henjak make a small fortune ??.....someone gave him a big fortune...boom tish

Haha, sorry, it went over my head I guess.

Finally they did something right they now need to sweap a broom through the entire board and coaching staff. Parramatta have been a total joke of a club over the last couple of years and a new change of direction and a fresh start is needed.

Maybe Mick Potter will get the job? I'm sure a lot of ESL coaches will be chomping at the bit for an NRL gig.

The right move but I think the issue is deeper than Kearney.

Didn't think SK did a bad job with the Eels last year. Got the best out of Mannah, Fui etc. and had a lot of top ranked clubs struggling against a bargain bin roster.

Thought his recruitment sucked this year but that didn't excuse him for his side playing as poorly as they have been and while injuries have f**ked him big time it's quite clear he lost the confidence of his players.

I'd hate to be Parra coach though. Their culture is completely messed up and it would take something special for them to take out a premiership.

This Parra board is pathetic, they release info like we canvassed our senior players before we made our decision but don't tell us what they said. So the senior players sacked the coach? not the board.

Jim Dymock hasn't been mentioned anywhere but might be a contender. Nearly got the Dogs job after impressing last year and a season under Des plus being a former Parra player wouldn't hurt.

Dymock wouldn't be a bad choice. But I think they need a culture builder...not sure he's experienced enough for that.

That is the problem they have isn't it. I can't see any of the coaches considered culture builders taking on the job until the front office gets sorted. It's hard to build a culture when the front office is a big part of the problem.

yeah the Eels' issues run so much deeper than the coach .. Ray Price should be sent packing - he's an absolute knee-jerk moron, he's dressing room aids ...

Ricky Stuart is just a quick fix to save face ... He's proven to be totally unsuited to coaching an NRL team but apparently now he's the great white hope .. He doesn't have the temperament to take a group of players on an 11 month journey come out the other end successful .. You simply can't ride every emotion of every play of every game an expect that both you and your playing group won't be completely burnt out by July .. Stuart's personality is ideally suited to origin for the time being ..
