Thank you for that. I was trying to get a little clearer sense of both coaches efforts. With or without Lockyer the stats are not outstanding for Hook but it is quite a drop without Locky. No doubt any coach would have a downturn without someone like Lockyer. It makes me wonder how WB went after losing the great Allan Langer, one of the greatest organising half backs. Mind you I consider we lost a lot when Kevvie Walters finished up too.

if you are talking about his 1999 retirement, we actually went better that season without him. considering he "retired" when we were dead last, before our huge winning streak to get us to the finals

Dragons forward pack is a massive turd sandwich to be honest. I don't even know if Cam Smith could make it look passable.

A bit of a surprise as I thought he would last out the season at least as this year he managed to sign a couple of big names and Benji and they started of they year ok but things have really been falling apart of late.

How things have changed it was little more than a year ago that Price was given a contract extension based on a 3 game winning streak and now he has been sacked. In his tenure the Dragons have gone from being completely professional and the top club in the game to one that is struggling on and off the field I think although he did inherit a side that had lost a few key players when Bennett left.

Seeing Mary McGregor coach will be quite interesting, he has never really struck me as a coaching type.
