NEWS Storm attempt to buy Broncos???

Surely there'd be something in the by-laws of the game preventing a group from owning two teams?

Conflict of interest and all that.
Our current owners used to be their former owners up until only reasonably recently.

Is this whole thing a ploy for storm to take over the broncos and keep their successful model but at a far more lucrative club?

Considering it is already happening with Tigers and Newcastle both being owned by Wests I would say not.
They aren’t. Newcastle are owned by the Wests group, which is a group of clubs in & around Newcastle, the Tigers are majority owned by West’s Ashfield Leagues Club.

So they flog us for over a decade and now they’ll buy us out as one last insult before the Bellamy era ends.

They’re not the tigers are owned by their leagues club and the knights are owned by wests group they have no relation to each other

There are a few ways to take this..potentially confirmation us landing Donahy and maybe Bellamy.
Sounds like the Storm know they're in a bit of trouble, especially when/if Bellamy and Smith leave the club.

This Tripp dude is really butthurt, isn’t he?

I see this as a pretty alpha move,

You come after our coach and CEO, we come after your club lol.

Nothing stopping them from having ownership of both teams, Nick Politis had a minor stake in the Broncos until recently.

News Corp has been geared up to sell the Broncos for awhile so I think they'd consider a serious offer.

I think that would just about do me with this sport if those ***** owned us.

the big difference is that their coach and CEO is gettable ... our club isn't.

News Corp have never held any interest in selling their stake in us. probably because their chairman is a massive Broncos fan, and $55 million is pocket change to Lachlan Murdoch

At best Tripp and his mates could become the minority shareholder ... which I highly doubt is what they want.

Until a week ago none of these journalists had heard of the Storm owners, now they're privy to business meetings and inner workings of their portfolio. Somehow I find it hard to believe.
