Storm Vs. Broncos *SPOILER*

I never thought I'd say this... but CMON EELS!!!! I am now hoping that Hayne gets let off! Im just glad this isn't last season, losing in the last 30 seconds.

That match was absolutely farken disgraceful. We were never in it right from the first hit up. 2010 can't come quickly enough.

That mistake from Yow yeh at the start really set the tone of our night, it realy handed Melb the momentum and they never let it go.
Melb are experts at holding down and slowing down the play the ball even when they haven't dominated and it sh@ts me we don't return the favour.

We have done a good job overall this season with a young side, and being beaten by Melb with so much class and experience probably isn't that bad, but the effort wasn't there just like during our slump, no fight.

My biggest criticism of IH is how conservative he becomes under pressure, during our slump the more we lost the more basic he had us playing and his plan to replace Wally was just too careful. Even if he got past Melb you couldn't expect to beat Parra when you don't have many points in you.

He had opportunities during the year to play B Hunt next to Locky and chose the conservative option every time.

Jury still well and truly out on IH for mine.

Ok. Ok.

I've calmed down. Ivan made a huge error tonight.

Congrats to them all for making it this far, I don't think anyone expected it.

I feel we played our grand final 2 weeks early.

That's always a BS excuse. If you can't be up for tonight's game you never will be up for one. What's gone before is irrelevant. Losing Wallace was probably a legitimate reason but they all said they weren't gonna use that.

But like others have said, the season turned out OK in the end considering the sh!t hole we were in a couple of months ago.

flat from word go I really don't think bullshit excuse is called for. Take a halfback out of any team and they will struggle.

We should be proud of how far the team has come. Losing Bennett, losing heaps of players and still getting within 1 match of the grand final. I'm still very proud of the Broncos.

+1.

Massive ask of the young kids and especially going to Melbourne. Don't think having Pete there would have made much difference.Really don't think many of you realize just how much we will miss Hunt next year. Be grateful we have had the privelige to have him play in our team for so long. Storm are a class act. Slater is sheer brilliance as is Ingliss. Rather lose tonight than next week in a GF which I think we may have as it would be too big an ask for our young side with inexperience in big games.
Go the Storm.

How disgusting not to have any rooms ready at the Inn for the boys so they have to fly back tonight. No wonder people are losing the passion when NRL can't run a chook raffle. Playing today in Melbourne was one of the biggest idiotic things this mob have done. They do not give a stuff about the fans. The fans show very little gratitude for their team to from what has been written by many of you.

Well after sitting back and reflecting on things I am proud of the guys this season. Yes tonight was ugly but looking back at the start of the season, let alone 8 weeks ago if you were to say we would fall one game short of the GF I would have laughed at you and said I'd take it.

We have had plenty of young talent come though this year that will stand us in good stead for the years ahead, we have had some players that came to us with big wraps finally show us that they do have the goods and the future looks bright there also, we have a rookie coach that has made some errors yes, but he will learn from them and he unlike a previous coach has shown he is willing to change things up at least.

Sad to see K go and the interview he did and seeing him after the game showed what passion he has for league and moreso for our great club the Broncos. I for one would not surprise to see him back one day when things don't work out in the AFL. Thanks heaps K.

On the game tonight would have loved Ivan to go with his original selection and play Glenn at half as the kid has plenty of talent, is not afraid to chance his arm like a halfback should(see his try tonight) and would have allowed us to train properly and seriously all week in positions and not play cloaks and daggers all week and disrupt the team more than we already were. Ivan WILL learn from this don't worry about that.

So overall proud of the boys, overachieved for where we thought we would be and the future does look bright, provided we prepare now for post-Locky life with Ben Hunt the man to come in.

We are going to miss Hunt big time next year. I think he is one of the best players to leave the club, ever.

Walking out of Canberra Stadium in August, I never imagined we'd come this close. Well done to the boys.
Credit to Ivan for turning us around. Being the first new coach in twenty years is a tough task for a rookie, but he delivered.
And boy, am I going to miss Karmichael. He is such fun to watch and has become such a big part of the club. Good luck in AFL K.

Terrific effort Broncos ... after THAT loss in Canberra I had written this group off in terms of upholding the proud culture the Broncos have established over their 22 years in this competition ... But these guys picked themselves up off the canvas, reeled off SEVEN straight wins and got themselves in position to make the grand final .... And in the process, the made a mockery of their critics ... (including me!)

That kid is 10,000 to 1 to finish up his professional sporting career in AFL ... I'd be surprised if he saw out his first contract with the Gold Coast "stink" ....

AFL will turn him soft unfortunately. Hopefully though we'll have a good replacement by the time K decides he's had enough of chasing a hot chip with a bunch of seagulls every week.

Why would he leave? He doesn't even need to perform or play first grade he will still get the million every year,

there is NO WAY IN HELL he can ever hope to catch up to guys who've been playing that code since they were kids ... I mean, Hunt will start 2011 as the WORST player on the Gold Coast list ... he will NEVER be able to reach the level of guys like Gary Ablett Jr et al. It's fugging impossible ! He's essentially been a league player all his life and in the space of a few months the Gold Coast "stink" reckon he'll be ready to match it with seasoned, hardened, talented professionals of the AFL ..... It is, without doubt one of sport's biggest PIPE DREAMS ...

I think you are very harsh on KHUNT. He is not going to the AFL expecting ti be as good as G Ablett JR. If KHUNT can command a spot in the top 22 that will be an awesome acheivement by him IMO.

UMMMMM but hang on ... they're paying him $1 million a season ...!! Do you not think that will equate to some rather high expectations from the "stink" ?

Would you pay someone $1million a year and settle for mediocrity ... ??
