Stuart's outburst - disgraceful

well i wouldnt say im "up in arms" about this, i just made a sarcastic comment which was replied to. its still annoying as hell, but unless im mistaken, tony smith never coached AUS. i find it hard to swallow coaching a team that plays against ur country / state, but i find it even harder to swallow coaching against a country whom u have coached before.

that plus, i hate wayne bennet

Should have had that line up the top so no time was wasted reading the other stuff.. [icon_razz1

I think as others have stated:

Robbie Deans
Guus Hiddink
Graham Lowe
Pim Verbeek
Brian Goorjian

There are numerous examples of Australian teams being coached by foreigners. I think it's a case of GTFOI.

Meh, id never do it, and i dont have to like it. Itd be like asking me to support nsw. aint going to happen

The thing is coaching today is a job / career like any other - if someone offers you what you consider a better job, higher paying job or you can't get the equavilant where you are; then you would generally take it - whatever industry you are in. Another symtom of sport becoming professional.

Also, the thing I find bewildering is, in regards to player salaries, Queenslander has often stated that RL is a buisness. So, I would have thought he can see the reasons for people to take up coaching roles for other countries.

That said, WB did something which he firmly believes in; strengthen international RL. Don't forget Queenslander; that yet another endeavour of this great man was to kick start the Tri Nations each year, basically reviving International RL in the 2000's.

I don't know how one can hate a man, who has given so much to one's chosen sport. It'd be like a Queenslander hating Lockyer.....

And nobody would ever ask you.

He'd be better than Julia Gillard (who has really been PM for most of the last year, since KRudd is always overseas on junkets).

Just out of curiosity queenslander... do you have a favourite Broncos player? Or do you just hate all of them?

Favourite is locky by a mile, also a fan of wallace (cept origin time) and a big fan of sims (more so from the start of the year than his ending to it). Was a fan of boyd too (til the raping) and kemp so it sucked to see them go. Ill be interested to see who the lineup for next year, then i could give u a better idea of who i like and dont.

I like em all basically, cept Hunt, Thaiday, Stagg and more recently Hodges since he doesnt actually play anymore, just beg for penalties. I cant say i hate Clinton, just think hes useless lol

Interested to know why you hate Thaiday? Other than the toilet thing.

Because i dont see him offer anything than a quick play the ball. 90% of the time he gets the ball, runs back towards the ruck, and drops to his knees as soon as he is touched (maybe hunt taught him in this in the toilets). Doesnt offer much in attack in that respect. Id rather see him running a bit wider, coz hes a big bloke who could easily get some offloads away.

Fair enough. I'm not having a go, it's just you spend so much time arguing about how shit some players are I haven't noticed you giving anyone wraps :P I think I remember you not liking Michaels too eusa_think

You definitely hate more Broncos players than any other Broncos fan I know [icon_lol1.

Yeah not a fan of michaels, i forgot about that nuffy.

The reason is, i spend more time watching the broncos than any other team (and care more), so i see more of each player and notice their strengths / weaknesses more than i would a team i only see occasionally. I am obviously very critical of players as i think if they are getting paid heaps to play footy, they should be exceptionally good. Im sure if i cared more for another team then i would have the same disdain for certain players, its not just a broncos thing. If i had actually watched ennis more closely before he came to us, im sure i wouldve hated the lil shit before he pulled on a broncos jersey lol

It seems you judge players based on their performance in a few games and then stick to it. He was definitely guilty of that around Origin time, but totally changed tact after Origin 3. He was brilliant in the latter half of the season. I also note his effort against Souths early in the year. Sure, they're shit house and can't play, but he ran wide, threw brilliant offloads, was dominant.

And ironically you say you like Sims, who played 3 good games for the Broncos all year, in rounds 1-3. He was a cat from then on.

Thaiday got a bit better, but to see he totally changed is ludicrous. Im not sure if its coached, or if its just him, but hopefully things will change next year. I dont think Sims was bad as everyone carried on about, yeah his form dropped off a bit, but until thaiday changes his running, i see more potential in Sims then thaiday.
