Yeah it's fine. You're also allowed to lean over the net and hit a ball if it had backspin on it and ends up on your opponents side. Touching the net is a no no though.

Solid first single game in Brissy, didn't win but up against the next big super server GMP it became a game decided entirely by the tie break, a shame because against a big server he didn't get to test his games in the rallies much, his wrist injury is definitely limiting his serving speed by atleast 10-15km/h, but it's not soo much an issue as his technique is mostly based on being unreadable with high accuracy so it didn't look out of place.
