End of the decade brings about teams.

AB De Villiers- 12th most runs for the decade, but the most complete batsmen I have seen.
Cook- Most runs for the decade with 8818 and with 23 100's.
Smith- 4th most runs for the decade with 7013 and 26 100's.
Kohli- 3rd most runs for the decade with 7202 and 27 100's
Williamson- seventh most runs for the decade with 6322 and 21 100's
Amala- 6th most runs for the decade with 6695 runs and 21 100's
Sangakkara- 13th most runs in decade with 4851 and keeper
Broad- 398 wickets and the second most at 27
Steyn- 267 wickets at 22- 6th most
Morkel- 248 wickets at 25- 8th most
Anderson- 427 wickets at 24 and most wickets for the decade

12th man Lyon- Third most wickets for the decade with 370 and most from a spinner, but we play at the 'Gabba so going all pace.

Notable omission- Root has the second most runs with 7282 but I couldn't use him ahead of Cook and AB.

If it is played at the Gabba, I'd go:

1. Warner (always smashes it in Aus)
2. Cook
3. Kohli (c)
4. Smith
5. AB
6. Al Hasan
7. Sanggakara (wk) (cheating putting him as keeper but meh)
8. Jadeja
9. Harris
10. Steyn
11. Anderson

12. Cummins

Yes, this is pure gut feel and there a lot of players that should/could be there but aren't - Johnson, Lyon, Broad, Williamson, Root, Boult, Southee, Starc, Hazlewood, Rabada, Ul-Haq, Chanderpaul, etc.

Hard to argue with any of those. It is tradition though with hypothetical teams like this to name a Spinner, and personally I'd play a spinner even if it was at the GABBA. Good spinners tend to do just fine there. That's Lyon in for me and Morkel out. If I had to have another Seamer then I'd probably play Stokes at 7 and bat Sangakarra at 6. I'd back that side to do well at the GABBA and just about anywhere.

Karunaratne gets a special mention as well for me. Doesn't have the weight of runs of the guys in the side, but he was tremendous in a Sri Lankan side that constantly put him in challenging situations he had to deal with mostly on his own.
